Ari Engel Wins Event 10 for $6,647 - Claims 14th WSOP Circuit Ring
Entering the day tied for third place with Dan Lowery on the all-time WSOP Circuit Ring list, Ari Engel was hoping to take one more step toward the top with a win and take one more step he did.
After battling through 8 remaining Day 2 players, it was Engel who collected all of the chips and took first place, earning his 14th WSOP Circuit Ring.
"The end of all tournaments, a couple of hands change things so easily, I could have gone out, but things went my way," Engel told Poker.org after the win.
With humility, Engel believes that his spot on the all-time Ring list isn't any more impressive than the others he shares company with. "I've played for sure more Circuit events than the other people that are around that have a lot of rings, their records are all more impressive than mine," he said.
For the first time when either Dan Lowery or Ari Engel has won a Circuit Ring, the other was in the room for it. After Engel's win Lowery insisted on joining Engel for a photo (above). "Congrats buddy, that's awesome," Lowery said in congratulations.
When asked if there was a chance he might tie or even break the record this series, Engel said, "This property is really nice, I really enjoy the mixed games and they have five mixed games in a row, that's why I came here."
With that, Engel went off to register for Event 11: Pot-Limit Big O.
Full results and a Winner's photo will be posted shortly.
