Flight A of the Main Event Begins at 11 AM
After a week-long of poker tournaments inside the Grand Victoria Riverboat Casino, it's finally time for the Main Event to take the stage!
Multiple World Series of Poker Circuit rings have already been handed out along with plenty of cash over the opening side events, however, this is the moment many of the players have been waiting for as the $1,700 Main Event set to begin today.
Last year's inaugural Main Event pulled together 1,070 entrants in November 2022, which blasted past the $500k GTD and generated a total prize pool of 1,621,050.
When it was all said and done, it was Frank Lagodich coming out on top for his first career WSOP Circuit Main Event title, along with his first Circuit ring and he took home just over $275,000 for his win which was his largest WSOP cash ever.
As for today, cards will be in the air at 11:00 a.m. local time, and a lengthy day of poker is on the horizon for players as play is scheduled through 17 levels.
Players begin with 30,000 in chips and will play 40-minute levels on Day 1 (60-minute levels Day 2 and beyond), with one re-entry per player per flight.
Players will be given a 15-minute break after every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break after level nine.
This time around, the Main Event boasts a $750,000 guarantee, but if the turnouts at this stop are any indication, that amount will get blown out of the water.
Players will play well into the money each flighty and will bag for Day 2 either at the end of Level 17 or when 10% of the field remains, whichever comes first.
The remaining players from all starting flights will return for Day 2 action on Sunday, April 16th at Noon and will play down to a winner on Monday April 17th starting at Noon as well.
