WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley Main Event Plays to A Winner Monday

Angela Jordison brings the chip lead into the final table

The final table of the WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley Main Event gets underway at 11 a.m. local time with Angela Jordison leading the final nine players.

Here’s a quick look at the field.

Angela Jordison (Chip leader – 5,260,000 chips) Jordison is on the verge of a historic start to her 2023. Just days after winning the $3,250 High Roller event for her first-ever WSOP Circuit ring, she’s just 8 eliminations away from going back-to-back.
Jordison was the runner-up for both the 2022 GPI Female and Mid-Major Player of the Year titles. Her 2023 is already off to a great start, and a win Monday would take it to an incredible other level.

Brandon Zuidema (2nd – 4,010,000 chips) Zuidema finished 6th this week in the High Roller event won by Jordison and finds himself at back-to-back final tables as well. Zuidema has cashed in three other events this week at Thunder Valley and will be looking to cap it with his 2nd career WSOP Circuit ring.

Bilguun Odgerel (3rd – 3,910,000 chips) Odgerel was a bit of an unknown entering the Thunder Valley Circuit, but with a pair of cashes this series and now a Main Event final table that will likely see the Oakland resident earn his largest career tournament score, Odgerel will be a player to watch Monday.

Kevin Vanderbeek (4th – 1,845,000 chips) Vanderbeek has already locked up his largest career tournament cash with his final table appearance. The Los Altos, CA resident has played well this weekend, holding the chip lead at one point Sunday, and will be looking to regain that spot both during the day, and ultimately in the end.

Roman Shainiuk (5th – 1,605,000 chips) Shainiuk has a 5th place finish in the 2019 Thunder Valley Main Event to his credit and will be looking to improve on that mark on Monday. He also has a WPT Deepstacks runner-up finish to his name which a win today would surpass as his largest-ever career tournament score.

Casey Sandretto (6th – 1,205,000 chips) After a 10-year-plus lull between WSOP cashes, Sandretto is back in a big way. He finished 120th in The Opener this week for his first recorded WSOP cash since 2012 and has now rocketed himself right to his 2nd ever WSOP Circuit final table. Sandretto also final-tabled a $1,000 RunGood event here at Thunder Valley last November.

Narongsak Dhanjaichon (7th – 955,000 chips) A newcomer to poker with his first two WSOP cashes coming last summer in Las Vegas, the young San Francisco resident has made his first Circuit cash a big one as he’s locked up his first five-figure score and first WSOP final table.

Jordan Griff (8th – 880,000 chips) Another player earning their largest-ever tournament cash is San Jose, CA’s Griff. With a pair of WSOP Las Vegas cashes to his name, Griff now has his first Circuit stop cash coming from an impressive run to the final table.

Ken Baime (9th – 705,000 chips) He may be the final table short stack, but Baime brings the most WSOP experience and success to the table, holding a resume that includes a pair of WSOP Circuit rings and 66 career cashes for over $472,000 in earnings. Baime may be starting the day with under 15 big blinds, but he’s more than capable of running that up into a contending stack.

Monday’s winner takes home $195,194, a prestigious WSOP Circuit ring, and entry into the WSOP Tournament of Champions this summer in Las Vegas.

Play begins where it concluded on Sunday, midway through Level 25 at blinds of 25,000/50,000 with a 50,000 big blind ante.
