The Final Day Of The Grand Victoria Circuit Main Event Is Set To Begin
A beautiful day to crown a champion
With it being the week of Thanksgiving, the remaining 10 players of the Grand Victoria Circuit Main Event are surely thankful to have a shot at $275,896 and a shiny new WSOP Circuit ring. A poker player cannot just simply arrive at the casino and buy glory, to become a champion you must first prove yourself amongst your peers at the poker table. Although each player must make it to the finish line to become champion, making it to Day Three of the Grand Vitoria Circuit Main Event is still an achievement worth acknowledging.
Leading the final 10 players in chips is WSOP Circuit ring holder Jill Bryant. Deemed “Purple Train” by her enthusiastic rail, Bryant has put herself in prime position to become the first-ever WSOP Circuit Main Event champion in Grand Victoria Casino history.
Bryant isn’t the only proven crusher at the final table though, as Ken Baime not only has two WSOP Circuit rings to his name, but just enough chips to spin it up and put his opponents on notice.
Just ahead of Baime is Gabriel Cook, who claimed a Circuit Main Event title at Horseshoe Southern Indiana on Halloween in 2009. Can Cook run the table and become a two-time Circuit Main Event champion? We will have to wait till tomorrow to see.
Another poker player who should not be overlooked is Brekstyn Schutten. Do not let the lack of a WSOP bracelet or WSOP Circuit ring fool you, this past summer Schutten finished runner-up to Jake Schindler in the $50,000 buy-in WSOP High Roller tournament. Today, Schutten will look to add an additional $275,896 to his career WSOP winnings that already surpass one million dollars.
Here are all of the chip counts for the remaining players:
1 - Jill Bryant - 4,650,000
2 - Tim Gundrum - 4,535,000
3 - Robert Kozik - 4,410,000
4 - Renato Spahiu - 3,840,000
5 - Brekstyn Schutten - 3,505,000
6 - Gabriel Cook - 3,000,000
7 - Aleksandar Cvijovic - 2,900,000
8 - Frank Lagodich - 2,745,000
9 - Ken Baime - 2,280,000
10 - Richard Bai - 520,000
Play will resume today, Monday, November 22nd at noon local time. Players will start at Level 27 with blinds being 40,000/80,000 with a 80,000 big blind ante.
With it being the final day of tournament, play will continue until the first Circuit Main Event champion in Grand Victoria history is declared.
