Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit Main Event Begins Today

2021 Thunder Valley Main Event Champion Victor Paredes

After a week of non-stop poker action, day one of the Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit Main Event is upon us. With a $500,000 guarantee sure to attract an impressive field, poker players from Northern California and beyond are eager to take part in the $1,700 buy-in tournament.

Last year, local poker player Victor Paredes won the 2021 Thunder Valley Main Event taking home not only his first WSOP Circuit ring, but the $169,294 top prize as well. Already making one final table appearance in this year's $400 NLH Opener Tournament, Paredes may have another deep run in him to defend his title of Thunder Valley Main Event champion.

Day 1A of the Thunder Valley WSOP Circuit Main Event will start at 11 AM with 40-minute levels until Level 16, after which blinds will increase every 60 minutes. Players begin with 30,000 in tournament chips with one re-entry per flight. Day 1 flights will play into the money with 15% of the field getting paid, and play will end once 10% of the field remains to move on to Day 2 on Sunday, October 9 at 11:00 AM. Day 3 is at 11 AM on Monday, October 10 and will play down to a winner.

Registration will remain open until the start of Level 13 on both starting days.

Live updates will begin on Day 2 on Sunday, so follow along on WSOP.com on the way to crowning the next WSOP Circuit Main Event Champion at Thunder Valley Resort and Casino.
