Mike Cohen Leads the 103 Advancing Players on Day 2
Today is Day 2 of the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Foxwoods. A total of 507 entries put more than $768,000 in the prize pool, and the 000 survivors are set to return today for the run to the final table.
Mike Cohen (pictured) had a fine showing on Day 1B, turning his 30,000-chip starting stack into 506,000 by night's end. He's the overall leader entering today, followed by Day 1A big stack Zach Donovan (459,500)
Other familiar faces near the top include Stephen Song (440,000), Nicholas Pupillo (342,500), James Magner (338,500), Carlo Sciannameo (272,500) and James Campbell (262,000).
The field will play 10 one-hour levels today with a dinner break after the sixth. The day's first order of business is bursting the money bubble, and the prizepool will be released early in the day. The goal is to play down to a final table. The eventual champion will likely take home a first place prize worth $130,000. On top of that, the tournament’s winner earns a gold ring and a berth in the prestigious Global Casino Championship where they’ll compete for a WSOP bracelet.
