Brennan Benglis Achieves 13-Year Poker Goal With $365 NLH Six-Max Victory

Brennan Benglis
Brennan Benglis has been chasing a notable poker win for 13 years. After more than a decade of grinding it out in the poker world both as a player and a dealer, he broke through for his first Circuit ring on Wednesday with a win in the $365 no-limit hold'em six-max event.
He defeated 336 entries and took home $25,206, but the win means more to him than just money and relative fame. He's able to fulfill a promise he made to his grandmother, who passed away three years ago. Before she passed, Benglis told her that he was going to win a major tournament for her. On Wednesday, he feels that he fulfilled his promise to her and the proverbial monkey is off of his back.
Benglis is a native of Lake Charles, LA, but now takes up residence in Austin, TX. He is married with a son and he noted that having a son in his life and people that rely on him has changed his approach to poker as a whole.
