Kirschenbaum, nicknamed “Little Cards,” wins his first Circuit ring and over $15,000.

Las Vegas, Nev. (21 February, 2017)The first World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is Mordechai Kirschenbaum. Kirschenbaum emerged victorious in Event #3: $365 Mixed Pot-Limit Omaha / No-Limit Holdem 6-Handed, earning his first career ring and $15,124.

It wasnt an easy path to victory for Kirschenbaum. The final table included two players with multiple career rings: Scott Stewart (4), and Christopher Carey (2). Carey finished in fifth place ($3,467) and Stewart in fourth ($4,823). Ming Zhu finished runner up. This is his sixth WSOP Circuit final table, out of eight Circuit cashes.

Kirschenbaum, who hails from Tel Aviv, earned the nickname Little Cards throughout this final table, as small cards repeatedly served him well and helped him gather all the chips.

This is the first event to finish at the Rio, and Kirschenbaum takes the lead in the Casino Champion race with 50 points. However, that lead is unlikely to last long. Three other events are scheduled to end Tuesday, and the winner of each of those will also earn 50 points. (The tie-breaker is money earned.)
