Bart Hanson Scoops a Contested Pot

Omaha/8

The blinds post 10,000 and 20,000 and Jordan Siegel opens for 40,000 in the cutoff. Bart Hanson calls on the button and Tim Burt calls in the big blind.

The flop is    . Burt checks, Siegel bets 20,000, Hanson calls, and Burt folds.

The turn is the  . Siegel puts out 40,000 and Hanson says, "Call." Hanson puts out 20,000 and the dealer tells him it is 40,000. Before he puts it in, he asks for clarification on how much the bet should be. The players then realize that they had posted 10,000 and 20,000 instead of 5,000 and 10,000, which should have been the blinds.

The floor is called over and the ruling is that they make the bets correct on that street, but they do not back up the action. Hanson puts in the 20,000 and they head to the river.

The river card is the  . Siegel checks, Hanson bets, and Siegel calls.

Hanson shows      for kings and tens, and Siegel mucks.

Several players continue complaining about the events that had just occurred and Hanson picks up the extra-inflated pot.

Bart Hanson - 348,000 (69 bb)
Jordan Siegel - 85,000 (17 bb)
