Eduards Kudrjavevs in Pole Position for Day 2
Chip Leader Eduards Kudrjavevs
Welcome to Day 2 coverage of Event #48: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em (30-minute levels).
The starting field of 524 players is down to just 49 survivors, each looking to outlast the field and capture a coveted World Series of Poker bracelet along with the first-place prize of $548,139. On top of the chip counts entering Day 2 is Eduards Kudrjavevs, with 640,000.
Kudrjavevs found himself on the right side of a full house-over-full house hand in the waning minutes of Day 1, and vaulted up the leaderboard as a result. Second in chips is Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi with 608,000, who is searching for his fourth WSOP bracelet here. Rounding out the top five are Ankush Mandavia (590,000), Max Silver (536,000), and Kyle Julius (488,000), who has already won a bracelet in a turbo event this summer.
Action in Event 48 resumes at noon and will continue until a winner emerges.
