Clayton Jiang Wins Turbo Event

Clayton Jiang

Las Vegas (3 March, 2016) – In the early hours of Thursday morning, Clayton Jiang won the first Turbo event at the World Series of Poker Circuit at Bally’s Las Vegas. It’s Jiang’s third Circuit victory, and he earns $18,595 for the win.

Jiang is a newcomer to the WSOP Circuit, but is already leaving his mark. The first time he cashed in a Circuit event was just five months ago, at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana. He not only cashed – he won. He then won another ring two months later in Cherokee. Now, after winning another here at Bally’s, he has five cashes and three rings so far this season.

Jiang now ties Cody Pack for most rings of the 2015-2016 season. Pack nearly won his fourth earlier on Wednesday. He finished runner up in Event #6: $580 No-Limit Hold’em. No one has ever won four Circuit rings in a single season, and both Jiang and Pack have a few more months to try to break that record.

This is also Jiang’s third cash here at Bally’s, and he’s a strong contender for the title of Casino Champion. He’s currently in fourth place behind David Aker, Jeff Dobrin, and Ari Engel.

The second-place finisher, Matt Hauge, is also having a successful series here at Bally’s. He made two final tables yesterday, finishing in ninth place in Event #7: $365 No-Limit Hold’em before entering the Turbo event.

The tournament began at 4:00 p.m. with 253 players. At about 1:30 a.m., there were only ten left, and Jiang secured his victory at about 4:00 a.m.
