Three Near Quarter-Million At Table 10 After Scott Vener Cracks Kings

A player opens to 4,000 from middle position and after some folds, Scott Vener three-bets to 11,000 from late position. The button and blinds fold and the initial raiser four-bets to 28,000. Without much hesitation, Vener five-bet shoves for just over 110,000 but the count doesn't matter to his opponent, who snap calls. Vener is drawing to just three immediate outs, as he holds    to his opponent's

One of those outs comes right away, as the     flop falls with the ace in the window to shoot Vener into the lead. With no backdoor possibilities, Vener has to fade just one out on the turn and river. He does, as the board bricks out and his big slick is good enough to win him the biggest pot of this Flight A session.

When the dust settles, the stacks are cut down and the player with pocket kings is slight covered by Vener, meaning that his WSOP Circuit Main Event run, for today at least, is over. Vener on the other hand is now peaking and contending for the overall chip lead, with his nearest competitors alongside him at Table 10, as he's seated with both Jonathan Borenstein and Vincent Pratt.
