Montes Tries To Go Back-To-Back
Last year's WSOP Circuit Main Event at Choctaw was one of the biggest of the 2014/15 season, with over 1,350 players doubling the original $1,000,000 guarantee that was put on the event. 153 of those players ended up notching a WSOP Circuit cash but in the end, Jose Montes claimed the lion's share of that prize pool, outlasting the field to take home a $352,000 score.
The win was his first on the WSOP Circuit and, to this day, remains his best career finish. In total, the Bronx, NY native has just shy of $1,000,000 in career earnings and while he's only notched a handful of WSOPC scores since his January 2015 victory, he enters today as one of the few players in this Flight A field with a WSOPC Main Event ring in his trophy case.
