GORDON WILCOX LEADS FINAL EIGHT PLAYERS IN FOXWOODS MAIN EVENT

Gordon Wilcox takes huge chip lead into Day 3 of Foxwoods main event
August 26, 2018 (Mashantucket, CT) - From a starting field of 507 entries, just eight players remain as Day 2 comes to a close.
Thanks to a huge pot during the last ten minutes of the night, Gordon Wilcox (pictured) will bring the big stack into the event's final day. Wilcox bagged up 4,965,000, giving him more than 124 big blinds at the Day 3 starting level.
Two-time World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event ring winner Dylan Wilkerson comes into final the day with the second biggest stack and is looking to add a third main event ring to his collection. Justin Carey who won Event 6 ($18,313) for his first ring earlier this week is looking for his second as well as Jason Bolton.

The day began with Michael Cohen sitting atop the counts. Hometown hero Zach Donovan had the second biggest stack. Other familiar faces near the top were up and comer Stephen Song, Nicholas Pupillo and Carlo Sciannameo. Pupillo parlayed his big stack into a 14th place finish ($10,378).
The list of those who fell during Day 2 is a long one littered with, ring winners, and other tournament poker standouts.
The bubble arrived during the third level of the day, with final tablist Dan Chalifour doing the dirty work to burst the bubble when he flopped a full house with pocket sevens to eliminate his opponent. That departure left the 54 remaining players in the money.
Some of those who cashed but did not last the night include past champion Sam Taylor, Ryan Chua, Frank Marasco, Matthew Zola, and six time ring winner Roland Israelashvili.
Shane Howeth made the final table but ran pocket tens into Gordon Wilcox’s pocket aces to bust in tenth place ($12,659) with less than ten minutes to go in the night.
Michael Deloge also made the final table but busted in ninth place ($15,750) with less than two minutes left in the night. Deloge flopped two-pair but was no good against Dylan Wilkerson’s turned flush.
The eight players who did survive the long day will return to action on Monday to play down to a winner. Blinds will be 20,000/40,000 with a 5,000 ante when play resumes, putting the average stack at a lofty 49 big blinds.
Everyone left is guaranteed to earn at least $19,657 but there's much more to play for than that. The winner will collect the series' most desirable ring and the top payout of $169,052. On top of that, the tournament’s winner earns a berth in the prestigious Global Casino Championship where they’ll compete for a WSOP bracelet.
