Foxwoods Resort and Casino will inaugurate the 12th season of the World Series of Poker Circuit on Thursday, as it hosts the first of 19 domestic stops on the 2015-16 Circuit schedule.
This year, the WSOP is introducing the International Circuit, expected to include six stops. At each Circuit stop, both domestic and international, two players will earn free entries into the season-ending Global Casino Championship (dates and venue to be announced). The winner of the Main Event and the Casino Champion – the player who earns the most points in the 12 ring events – each earn free seats, valued at $10,000.
Action at Foxwoods begins August 6th with the $580 No-Limit Hold’em Re-entry event. It features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. There are two starting days and four starting flights: Thursday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and then Friday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Players who advance from all four flights resume play in a combined field on Saturday. As always, the Foxwoods schedule features a wide variety of poker offerings. In addition to the re-entry event, highlights include a $580 Six-Max tourney, a $365 Monster Stack, PLO and Omaha hi-lo events, and an $1,125 no-limit hold’em tournament just before the Main Event.

The final table is expected to play down to a winner on Monday, August 17th.
When Foxwoods hosted the Circuit in August last year, the Main Event winner was Allen Kessler, who bested a field of 526 players to earn his third WSOP Circuit ring and over $170,000.
