WSOP International Circuit

2016/2017 World Series of Poker International Circuit

The International Circuit is back for the second consecutive year and it is bigger and better this time around. The 2016/17 tour starts in Campione, Italy on September 8, 2016. The season will run up until the start of the 2017 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and stop at up to 16 different international locations. Last year the International Circuit featured six different stops on three different continents. Six initial stops have been confirmed for the 2016 portion of the season and the WSOP staff expects to add six to 10 more stops for the 2017 portion of the season.

The International Circuit will host gold ring events. Gold ring events award the winner a WSOP gold ring and typically have smaller buy-ins than gold bracelet events. This gives players of all skill levels and bankrolls a shot to become a WSOP champion.

Returning to the 2016/17 International schedule from last season is Casino Campione in Italy and King's Casino in the Czech Republic. Also on this year's schedule is Spielbank Berlin in Germany. The German property has never hosted a WSOP International Circuit event, but they were host to the 2015 WSOP Europe series, where Kevin MacPhee won the Main Event for €883,000 and his second career gold bracelet. The new stops confirmed on this year's schedule are Sonesta Maho Beach Resort in St Maarten, Caribbean, Cercle Clichy Montmartre in Paris, France and Conrad Punta del Este in Uruguay.

The International Circuit is separate from the domestic Circuit. Points toward the "at-large" leaderboard are only awarded on the domestic Circuit, but players on the International Circuit will still have opportunities to qualify for the 2017 Global Casino Championship. Just like the domestic Circuit, each International Circuit stop will award two seats to the Global Casino Championship. The winner of the series' Main Event will earn a seat and the winner of the Casino Championship title will also earn a seat.

The 2017 Global Casino Championship will have a minimum $1 million prizepool and award the winner a WSOP gold bracelet.
