Justin Boggs - Horseshoe Southern Indiana Main Event Champ

Elizabeth, Indiana (October 9, 2017) – The World Series of Poker Circuit has crowned a new Main Event Champion. It was Justin Boggs who conquered Event #10: $1,675 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana series, winning $139,920, an automatic bid to the 2018 Global Casino Championship, and his first gold ring.

The tournament took four days to complete, including two separate starting flights. Boggs moved through Flight B and not only survived, but advanced with a massive chip stack.

Freedman bets 800,000, basically half her stack. Boggs quickly moves all in. Freedman is faced with a call for her tournament life. She lets it go and Boggs scoops the huge pot.

Wendy Freedman opens the button to 160,000, and Justin Boggs defends his big blind.

They both check through the     flop, and the turn is the  . Boggs checks, Freedman bets 125,000, and Boggs calls. The river is the  , and Boggs checks again. Freedman bets 410,000, and Boggs calls her down.

"Eight-high," Freedman announces, showing   . Boggs tables   , winning the pot with a pair of kings.

Wendy Freedman completes in the small blind, and Justin Boggs raises to 210,000 in the big. Freedman moves all in for 2,320,000 total.

Boggs sinks into the tank. "I need a count," he says. As the dealer verifies the amount, Boggs cuts down his own stack to eye up the potential damage. A call would cost him just over half of what he has in front of him, and he ponders for two or three good minutes. Eventually, though, he folds, showing   .

Freedman taps the felt lightly in acknowledgment, and the dealer pushes back her own chips plus a little extra.

Action folds around to the blinds where Michael Foley moves all in for 1,150,000. Wendy Freedman calls from the big blind, and Foley has once again run into her ace-jack.

The     flop lets Freedman breathe a little easier, removing three immediate outs from Foley's list. The   on the turn adds four more right back, though, as he's suddenly drawing to a gutshot straight with one to come. Sure enough, the river is the  , filling the straight and giving Foley a big double-up.

"I'm sorry," he apologizes.

"You don't have to be sorry," Freedman says. "Nice hand."

Michael Foley opens the button to 190,000, and Wendy Freedman three-bet shoves for 1,655,000 in the small blind. Foley calls, committing about 75 percent of his stack to put Freedman at risk.

The     flop is clean for Freedman, but the   turn provides a good sweat. Foley needs to find a nine or a club to knock her out, but the river is the blank  . Freedman's kicker plays to double her up.

Justin Boggs opens the button to 140,000, and Michael Foley three-bet shoves for 855,000 in the small blind. Boggs asks for the count, then asks to have the raise pulled in. "It's close," he says. After a couple minutes, he folds, and Foley wins the pot with no showdown.

Two hands later, Boggs raises to 140,000 in the small blind, and Foley shoves the big.

"You have more than a million now?" Boggs asks.

"One point two," Foley says. "Little less. One-one-eight-five, I think."

"All right, let's go," Boggs says, plunking a stack of chips into the middle to put Foley at risk.

The board runs out      , and Foley wins the pot with kings up. His count was correct; he doubles for 1,185,000.

In the first hand of Level 29, Al Hencheck moves all in under the gun for right around 650,000. Michael Foley folds on the button. Wendy Freedman folds her big blind.

It is now on Justin Boggs. "Alright Al, let's see what we got. The first one is not good for you," Boggs says, peeling up his first card. Shortly after peeling the second, Boggs puts in a call and flips over   .

"I like my chances," Hencheck utters while revealing   .

The flop comes    . "I like them less now," says Hencheck.

The turn and river are the   and  , respectively. Boggs pairs both his whole cards and sends Hencheck to the rail. Hencheck is awarded nearly $50,000 for his deep run in the Main Event.

Wendy Freedman opens the cutoff to 110,000, Justin Boggs calls on the button, and Al Hencheck calls in the small blind. Scott Montgomery has 50,000 of his 60,000 chips committed to the big blind, and he drops his last two chips into the middle to put himself at risk with a chance to quadruple up.

The flop is    , and Freedman bets to end the action and collect the side pot. The two live hands are shown down to decide the main pot and Montgomery's fate.
