Netaliev Bags Day 1C Chip Lead; Begovic, Gutyi, Clinkscales, Kessler, Peters, Madsen All Bag Too
Day 1C of Event #5: €1,100 MONSTER STACK No-Limit Hold'em is in the books here at the King's Resort in Rozvadov. The last of three starting flights was the busiest one as is the tradition in the biggest poker arena of Europe. Day 1C attracted 314 hopefuls to the tables with 80 of them making it through to Day 2. Taking the chip lead is Oleg Netaliev with 472,000 in chips.
The young Russian player seems to have come onto the scene only recently with three live cashes this year which includes two wins, one of them was the partypoker Russian Poker Championship just over two months ago. Trailing him in the chip counts is Frank Rohrmueller from Germany with 399,500. Closing the podium for today is Yoan Argence, the Belgian player bagged 386,500 in chips and will be looking forward to running that up to even more on Day 2.
Other notable players returning to the felt on Day 2 include fresh WSOP bracelet winner Mykhailo Gutyi (300,000), WSOP Circuit Rozvadov Champion Amar Begovic (269,500), Rex Clinkscales (241,000), well-known local player Yehuda Cohen (239,000), Anatolii Zyrin (213,000), Tobias Peters (202,500), Romain Lewis (148,500), four-time WSOP bracelet winner Jeff Madsen (133,000), and Vojtech Ruzicka with 113,500 in chips.
At 3 PM the tournament kicked off with over 100 players in their seats already, contrary to the action over the first two starting days, today it took more than an hour for the first player to be eliminated from the Monster Stack without having another shot. Rakesh Lalwani has the dubious honor of being the first to hit the rail because Maksym Lavrov hit a set on the flop. Ryan Riess, the 2013 WSOP Main Event Champion took his seat as he arrived today but was sent to the rail quite early by Khabat Jahany so he could enjoy the Michigan football game.
He wasn't the only one to be eliminated during the fourteen levels of play today, players like Jose Obadia, Jerome Sgorrano, Winfred Yu, Milad Oghabian, Daniel Rezaei, Martin Kabrhel, Renato Kaneoya, Roland Israelashvili, Krasimir Yankov, Guiliano Bendinelli, Philipp Zukernik, Ognjen Sekularac, Matthew Wantman, Aylar Lie, Cord Garcia, David Boyaciyan, Boon Seng Ang, Artur Rudziankov, Shaun Deeb, Michael Soyza, Asi Moshe, Jan Mach, and Gianluca Speranza all fell at one of the many hurdles today.
Day 2 will commence on Sunday, October 21, at 2 PM local time with 100 players sharing the total prize pool of €639,027. In total, 165 players will return to fight it out to see who will reach the final table. The level duration will increase to 60 minutes with a 15-minute break after every two levels and a dinner break after the 6th level of play.

Sansone Busts in Last Hand of the Night
Roberto Sansone shoved from the hijack for 24,500 and so did Raj Dhanekula in the cutoff for 64,000. Rex Clinkscales considered it for a while from the button but opted to fold. The blinds also quickly folded.
Roberto Sansone:
Raj Dhanekula:
The board ran out for Dhanekula to hit a jack on the turn to take Sansone out of the tournament.

Leong Cracks Aces to Scoop a Monster Pot
It was just the two blinds left in the hand on the river with the board reading . There was already over 80,000 in the middle in what seemed to be an inflated pot.
Leong led out for a bet of 36,500 and the action was on Sansone who indicated he was holding pocket aces. He thought for a couple of minutes, trying to get a read on Leong but he gave nothing away. Sansone eventually called and Leong flipped over for a full house on a double-paired board. Sansone flashed but sent a healthy amount of chips across the table.

Madsen Folds to Vonmoos' Shove
The flop read with around 20,000 in the middle.
Jeff Madsen had 18,400 in front of him in the small blind, Erkan Sonmez had a bet of 8,200 in front of him and folded. Michael Vonmoos also had a bet of 8,200 in front of him and tanked. The dealer refused but was corrected by the floor who happened to walk past.
Vonmoos had 77,100 left for the all-in and Madsen went through the options in his head. In the end, he opted to fold.
