Adam Junglen entered the pot from middle position with a raise to 80,000 which was called by the big blind in Nicolas Fierrogottner.

On a     flop, Junglen's 105,000-chip continuation-bet would be enough to force a fold from Fierrogottner.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 5:34 PM Local Time

Nicolas Fierrogottner wasn't to happy at conceeding that last pot to Scott Baumstein and consequently followed it with back-to-back blind and ante steals.

Jeffrey Gross opened the cutoff with a raise to 80,000 with Tom Marchese smooth-calling from the button before Nicolas Fierrogottner three-bet to 230,000 from the small blind.

Gross passed, but Marchese made the call as the flop landed     and both players tapped the table. When the turn of the   landed, Fierrogottner pushed out 380,000 and Marchese made the call as the   completed the board.

Fierrogottner announced a bet of 500,000 as Marchese went into the tank for not one, not two, not even three minutes. Falling just shy of seven minutes, Marchese eventually would make the call, only to muck when shown Fierrogottner's    for two pair.

As Marchese slips to 530,000, Fierrogottner moves to 2,750,000 in chips.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 5:00 PM Local Time

Nikita Lebedev opened to 75,000 only to have Adam Junglen three-bet to 180,000 from two seats over.

Lebedev's early position raise couldn't handle the heat of the Junglen three-bet as the Russian's cards were angled to the muck as he slipped below the 900,000-chip mark.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 4:52 PM Local Time

Adam Junglen raised to 65,000 and was called by Scott Baumstein, Nicolas Fierrogottner, and finally Todd Terry from the big blind. The flop fell     and Terry checked to Junglen who fired out 160,000.

Baumstein made the call and the rest folded, making them heads up for the pot. The turn came   and the action went check-check. The river fell   and Junglen led out for 200,000. Baumstein quickly raised to 425,000 and after some pondering, Junglen made the call only to see Baumstein turn over a winning   .

Adam Junglen opened to 65,000 only to have Mark Radoja three-bet next to act to 170,000.

From the next seat over in the cutoff, Scott Baumstein pushed out a four-bet amounting to 395,000 as the action swiftly returned to Junglen.

He eyed up both player's chip stacks before announcing a raise to 3,000,000. Radoja kicked his cards to the muck, but Baumstein quickly re-checked his hand before announcing a call for his 1,630,000-chip stack.

Junglen:
Baumstein:

With a cooler in progress, the board was spread       to see Baumstein improve to a set while doubling through to 3,510,000 while Junglen slips to 2,425,000 in chips.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 4:36 PM Local Time

Jeffrey Gross managed to get his whole stack in the middle against Scott Baumstein preflop holding    against Baumstein's

The flop came down     and Gross' aces were still good. The   turned, giving Baumstein chop outs, but his hopes for a chop were dashed when the   hit the river. Gross is now sitting on about 2,500,000.

Sean Getzwiller - 9th Place

From the button, Adam Junglen opened to 60,000 only to have Sean Getzwiller move all in from the small blind for 660,000. Junglen deliberated for a few moments before eventually making the call.

Getzwiller:
Junglen:

The     flop gave Getzwiller no immediate outs, but with plenty of runner-runner combinations, the   on the turn was perfect for Getzwiller as he needing any ace, queen, nine, eight or spade to survive.

Unfortunately for the Event #8: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Champion, the river would fall the   to end his double-bracelet chase in 9th place for a $36,669 payday. With that pot, Junglen moves to roughly 4,050,000 in chips.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 4:26 PM Local Time

Scott Baumstein opened to 70,000 from middle position only to have Todd Terry move all in for 580,000 in chips from the small blind.

Baumstein contemplated his decision for a few moments before eventually making the fold.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 4:24 PM Local Time

Todd Terry raised from the cutoff to 75,000 only to be quickly three-bet by Adam Junglen to 180,000. It folded back to Terry who quickly mucked his cards, awarding Junglen the pot.

The next hand Scott Baumstein made it 70,000 to go from late position only to have Tom Marchese make it 185,000 from the cutoff. Baumstein folded and gave Marchese the pot.

It seems that at this table so far, three-betting preflop has been enough to take down pots.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 4:08 PM Local Time

Todd Terry opened to 75,000 only to have Nicolas Fierrogottner three-bet the small blind to 205,000.

Terry took his full measure of time before kicking his cards to the muck.

Thursday, June 16, 2011 4:06 PM Local Time

Raise to 70,000, raise to 70,000 and a walk.

The start of this level is fairly sombre.
