EVENT UPDATES

view updates for day:
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:31 AM Local Time
Eric Buchman has the button. Darvin Moon is the preflop aggressor with a raise to 2 million. To the aggressor go the chips, and Moon earns a few more. It's tough to find creative ways to say raise-fold over and over agin this deep into the night.

For those of you still following our coverage, we thank you. We know it's been long (13 hours, 30 minutes to be exact), but the players are still trekking along in hopes of making it to the end of the night where only two remain. As you can see from the updates, the tournament has slowed down greatly. We haven't seen a flop in who knows how long and we're not sure the next time we will. The players themselves look shot and don't really seem to be interested in playing poker anymore. Well, everyone but Joe Cada. Cada's youth seems to be the overhwelming factor as he takes advantage of the older and more tired players still left to do battle. The old adage is to quit playing when you're too tired to play your A-game, but what happens when you can't quit?

Darvin Moon has the button. Eric Buchman opens to 2.0 million from the small blind and takes down the pot.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:28 AM Local Time
Jeff Shulman has the button. Joe Cada raises to 2 million. Raise-fold, and Cada takes it down preflop.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:26 AM Local Time
Antoine Saout has the button. His standard opening amount is 1.925 million; that's what he puts into the middle of the table. Both blinds fold.

Joe Cada has the button. Darvin Moon raises to 2 million under the gun, and nobody wants to play poker any more tonight. Four quick folds give the pot to Moon.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:23 AM Local Time
Eric Buchman has the button. He opens to 2.0 million. For the second hand in a row, Joe Cada three-bets. This time he makes it 6.0 million. Once again he encounters no further resistance from Buchman.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:21 AM Local Time
Darvin Moon has the button. The table folds to the blinds, and Eric Buchman makes it 2 million from the small blind. Joe Cada thinks it over for a minute or two before sticking in a three-bet to 5,800,000 total. Buchman gets the message and lets him take the pot.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:19 AM Local Time
Jeff Shulman has the button. He makes his standard open to 2.5 million. Both blinds fold. It's clearly gotten late and we now have five tired poker players on our hands. They seem inclined to fold to one pre-flop raise until the sun comes up.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:18 AM Local Time
Antoine Saout has the button. Eric Buchman opens this pot to 2 million, and he can't get any takers either.

Joe Cada has the button. He raises to 2.0 million and wins the blinds and the antes.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:17 AM Local Time
Eric Buchman has the button. Under the gun, Jeff Shulman comes in with a raise to 2.5 million. He gets no takers at this suddenly-tight table, and he'll pocket the blinds and antes.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:15 AM Local Time
Darvin Moon has the button. After two folds, he raises to 2.0 million, the now-standard raise for the Moon-Buchman-Cada side of the table. Once again, there is no further action.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:14 AM Local Time
Jeff Shulman has the button. Antoine Saout raises to 1.925 million from the cutoff, good enough to take down the pot.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:12 AM Local Time
Antoine Saout has the button. Joe Cada opens to 2.0 million. Nobody bites.

Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:12 AM Local Time
Joe Cada has the button. The first three players forfeit their antes as they fold to the blinds. Antoine Saout raises from the small blind, and Jeff Shulman doesn't want to tangle from the big.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:10 AM Local Time
Eric Buchman has the button. He opens the pot to 2.0 million. Neither Joe Cada nor Antoine Saout decide to take him on.
Sunday, November 8, 2009 2:08 AM Local Time
Darvin Moon has the button. Antoine Saout is first to act, and he raises to 1.925 million, enough to win him the pot outright.

Antoine Saout has the button. Eric Buchman is first to enter the pot, and he does so with a raise to 2 million in early position. Antoine Saout makes the call in position, and they're the only two who make it to the flop. The dealer runs out       for the first thrice cards, and Buchman quickly reaches for chips. He slows down while he decides on the appropriate amount, and he finally settles on 3 million straight. Saout doesn't like it, but he lays his hand down to Buchman's pressure.
