As we've moved into the second level of today's field, the infamous "Seat open!" phrase can be heard over and over again. Many players are making bolder moves now, with blinds getting bigger and the first hour of play completed. And not all these calls are for unknown players--both John Juanda and David Williams have already given up their seats.

With the board reading           a player led out for 200 and Jean-Robert Bellande raised to 700. The other player called and Bellande said, "Two pair," slapping down the    . The other player tabled     for the rivered set and took down the 1,800 pot. Bellande lost some chips but things might've been worse if the other player had raised.

Action folded around to David Williams in the small blind, who called to see a flop. The big blind checked and the flop ran       and Williams led out for 100. The big blind fired back for an additional 200 and Williams called. The   fell on the turn and Williams check-called a 300 bet from his opponent. Both players checked the   on the river, with Williams showing 10-3 and his opponent showing    . Out-kicked, Williams is down to 1,300 after the hand.

After a       flop Shane Schleger bet 150 and another player called. They checked it down after the   and   came on the turn and river and the other player proudly said, 'Nuts!" as he turned over the ace-high flush he'd flopped. His hand wasn't actually the nuts (there was a straight flush possible) and besides, when you have the best hand possible you usually want to BET it. Schleger said, "I can't beat that," as he mucked his cards.

It's an odd feature of these $1,500 No-Limit events, the room is absolutely jam-packed...and it's quiet. Very quiet. You still hear the never-ending riffling of chips, but not much conversation as you walk through the room. The game faces are on and table banter is hard to come by.

Today's $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament is gonna be massive. We have players in the Amazon Room, the Tropical Room, the Brasilia Room, up outside of Buzio's restaurant and in the Rio's poker room. No truth to the rumor that they've set up poker tables on the alleys at Lucky Strike Bowling. It might take a few extra minutes for the players to find out where they're playing and get situated.

A week of popular no-limit offerings at the WSOP continues on Thursday with the noon start of Event 36, $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em. It's the third $1,500 No-Limit in five days, in a bit of a scheduling quirk, but as always, the affordable buy-in will pack them in -- over 2,000 players are expected to be on hand. Last year, this event was captured by Ryan Young, who outlasted 2,540 other entrants to capture the $615,955 first prize.
