Painter Still Applying Coats of Pressure

We caught up with Jameson Painter facing off against one opponent on a flop of    . Painter was on the button and action had checked to him. He bet 3,000 and his opponent called.

The turn was the   and both players checked to see the   on the river. Painter's opponent bet 8,000 and Painter decided to reraise, making it 35,000 to call. Painter's opponent frustratedly flicked his cards into Painter's bet, folding, and Painter took down the pot, adding to his growing stack here on day 2.

Nick Schulman Dislikes the River

The action was folded to the cutoff who raised to 2,800 and Nick Schulman called from the button. The flop came     and the cutoff led out for 3,000. Schulman called and the   landed on the turn.

The cutoff checked and Schulman bet 4,500. His opponent called and the river brought the  . The cutoff led out for 8,000 and Schulman thought for a couple minutes. He eventually decided to fold as he shook his head about the ace on the river.

Langrock Loses Ground

With about 25,000 chips in the middle, the completed board read       and recent bracelet winner Sebastian Langrock was heads up against a player in middle position. He checked and his opponent checked behind. Langrock flipped over    but his opponent tabled    and took the pot, having paired his ace on the flop.

Trips for Neuville

Joining the action on the      turn, Pierre Neuville checked out of the big blind and Chris DeMaci bet 8,700 on the button. Neuville tossed in two T-5,000 chips for the call and checked again the   turn. DeMaci clarified that the Belgian had checked and did so as well to see Neuville turn over    for trips queens.

That was good enough to win the pot, as DeMaci mucked.

Following a limp from early position, Steven van Zadelhoff raised to 3,600.

With the action on Richard Seymour in the cutoff, he three-bet to 11,300.

The blinds folded, as did the limper, and van Zadelhoff folded too to see Seymour collect the pot.

Polk Tries to Pick on Grafton but Gets Pressured by Funke

Doug Polk

Sam Grafton opened with a raise to 2,200. Next to act was Doug Polk who put in a three bet to 6,800. Jason Funke flatted on the button and Grafton called as well, taking the three players to a flop.

On the     flop, action checked all the way around. The turn was the   and Grafton and Polk both checked over to Funke. Funke put out a big bet of 14,000 and Grafton got out of the way while Polk called.

On the   river, Polk checked again. Funke fired a bet of 23,000. Polk dropped into the tank and let out a couple of groans.

"I just wanted to pick on Sam," Polk said. Eventually Polk called and Funke showed    for a missed flush draw and ace high while Polk had the best hand with    and he took down the pot.

Shulman Loses Some

A player in early position raised to 2,500, the next player to act called, Luigi Knoppers called from middle position, as did Barry Shulman, the button called, and the big blind also called.

Six players saw a flop of     and they all checked.

The turn brought the   and action checked to Shulman. He bet 9,000, the button called, and everyone else folded.

The river was the   and Shulman checked. The button bet 13,000 and Shulman mucked.

Adams Finds a Double on the Secondary Feature Table

Brandon Adams found himself all in and at risk before the flop. He was holding    aginst Albert Daher's   . Adams was all in for roughly 25,000, and Daher had called with a covering stack.

The flop came down    , not helping either player and offering no extra outs to Adams. The   on the turn was a blank as well. Fortunately for Adams, the river was the   and that gave him the two pair he needed to double up through Daher and to keep him alive in the tournament.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko raised from late position and his opponent three-bet to 7,200 from the big blind. Timoshenko shipped all in for 22,400 and his opponent called.

With over 20,000 in the pot and the board reading    , the player in the small blind had moved all in, and Terik "Tizzy" Brown was in late position. Brown called with quads and had a double-up secured.

Piccioli Takes from Lee

On a flop of    , the action checked to Gyeongbyeong Lee in the cutoff and he bet 5,000. The button folded before Bryan Piccioli called in the small blind and the big blind folded.

The turn of the   was checked through by both players as the   landed on the turn.

Piccioli bet out 23,500 and Lee mucked and dropped to 340,500 after eliminating Brent Roberts a few hands earlier.

Piccioili is now up to 220,000 in chips.

Kuipers Wins Kings Against Aces

After an early-position raise, Pim Kuipers looked down at    and put in a three-bet in late position. The initial raiser four-bet and Kuipers called. The flop was     and all the money went in to create a pot of 160,000. Kuipers' opponent held    and was out-flopped by Kuipers' kings. The board provided blanks on turn and river to send the pot to the Dutchman.

Shortly after, Kuipers knocked a player out with    against    to move up even further. Kuipers now sits at 350,000 and wields one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Baumann Can't Hold with Aces

Gaelle Baumann Eliminated

Gaelle Baumann got her remaining 66,000 chips in the middle against Marc Rivera and was in great shape to double up. Baumann turned over    and her opponent tabled   .

Cherish Andrews' Stack Almost Falls Over

Cherish Andrews is one of the biggest stacks in the Day 2b field. She is well over 300,000 and added a bit more over the last few hands.

After an under-the-gun raise to 2,500 and a call, Andrews three-bet from the small blind, making it 8,500. Both her opponents folded.

A few hands later, Andrews was the first to enter the pot. She reached to the top of her chip stack and it almost fell over from being stacked more than 50 chips high. She raised to 2,200 and her opponents folded.

So far Andrews has 16 WSOP cashes, totaling $427,381 in earnings. She has also earned about $100,000 more in non-WSOP tournaments.
