Welcome to Day 2 coverage of Event #58: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em (30-minute levels).
The starting field of 1,397 players is down to just 28 survivors, each looking to outlast the field and capture a coveted World Series of Poker bracelet along with the first-place prize of $221,163. On top of the chip counts entering Day 2 is Enrico Rudelitz, with 904,000.
In the late stages of Day 1, Rudelitz picked up pocket kings and caught an opponent making a move with a suited connector, vaulting up the leaderboard as a result. Rounding out the top five are Mikhail Petrov (604,000), William Liang (602,000), Nikolay Mantsurov (601,000), and Ben Reinhart (501,000). Others still in the field include Olympic Gold Medalist Fatima Moreira de Melo (270,000) and 2013 Main Event champion Ryan Riess (164,000).
Action in Event #58 resumes at noon and will continue until a winner emerges.
