The board rolls out       with Gates betting 3,500 and 6,500 on the turn and river. Winter calls both bets before the river is checked.

Rikard Aberg

Rikard Aberg began Day 3 with just 10,100 in chips but began the day with a near triple-up via two hands in the first ten minutes of play. On the first hand, Aberg shoves in late position. He didn't get any action but collected the blinds and antes.

On the third hand of play, Aberg shoves again, this time with   , and a player called out of the blinds with   . The board ran out       and Aberg's queen kicker played. The pot put Aberg at 30,500.

Fast forward half an hour, and Aberg has blinded down to around 19,000 and is in the big blind. The player under the gun min-raises to 3,200 and Aberg calls. The flop comes    . Aberg checks and his opponent continues for 4,700. Aberg check-shoves for 16,000.

According to players at the table, Upeshka De Silva opens preflop with a raise to 4,000 from the hijack. The action folds around to Mike Cohen in the small blind, who three-bets to 16,000. De Silva calls and it's heads up to the flop.

On the     flop, Cohen bets 20,900. De Silva calls and the   falls on the turn, putting three hearts on the board. Both players check and the river is the  . Cohen bets 42,500 and De Silva takes a moment before he moves all in for a little over 160,000, having Cohen covered. Cohen snap-calls and tables    for a queen-high flush, but De Silva shows    for the nut flush to scoop the pot.

The player in the hijack raises to 3,300 and action folds around to Daniel Cates in the small blind, who moves all in for about 100,000. The player in the big blind calls off his last 21,000 and the hijack goes into the tank. After about a minute in the tank, the hijack folds and Cates is heads-up with the big blind.

"Do you have a pair?" asked Cates as he tables   .

The big blind doesn't respond and he shows   . The flop is     and the big blind adds four outs to his hand.

"People don't hit that draw very much," said Cates of the big blind's straight draw.

The turn is the   and the river is the  , giving Cates the pot.

"See, people never hit that draw," said Cates as the dealer pushes him the pot.

With the board reading      and just over 9,000 in the pot, Jamie Staples checks in the small blind. His opponent, in the big blind, bets 4,300 and Staples, who is playing just over 25,000, calls. 

The   pairs and completes the board and Staples checks again, with his opponent quickly doing the same to end the action. 

Staples cringes before announcing "four", tabling    for a rivered full house. It's good enough to win the pot and chip up the short stack.

Chip leader Anand Amar opens with a raise to 3,500 from under the gun and finds calls from a middle position player and Loren Rice on the button. Sean Dempsey is in the small blind and he moves all in over the top for his last 41,600. Anand thinks for a moment before letting his cards go. The middle position player folds as well, putting the action on Rice. He reaches for chips and cuts out a call, allowing the players to turn their cards face up.

Scotty Nguyen opens the pot with a raise to 3,000 from the hijack and calls after Heinz Kamutzki three-bets to 11,100 from the cutoff.

The flop us     and Nguyen check-calls an 8,000 c-bet from the German player. Both players check the   turn before Kamutzki bets 16,000 on the   river when checked to again.

The flop falls     and Lewis checks to Hachem who bets out 3,800. Lewis calls and checks the   on the turn as Hachem bets 6,800.

Again, Lewis calls as the   completes the board and he checks to Hachem who bets 12,200.

After about a minute deliberating, Lewis folds and Hachem is pushed the pot.

"Was there a number you were going to call?" asks Hachem.

Lewis nods his head.

"8,100? I hate myself for that s**t!" adds Hachem after the hand.

Greg Candido raises on the button and Kristina Holst three-bets to 11,000 out of the big blind. Candido calls and the two see a flop of    . Holst gives Candido a quick stare and then puts out a bet of 24,000. Candido quickly folds and Holst's neighbor congratulates her.

Holst smiles and says "it's been a good day" and it has been as she started with 76,400 and has more than doubled that in the first hour of play.

A series of preflop raises sees Michael Shanahan all in and Luther Tran calls.

Shanahan was one of the top stacks for a long time yesterday but slipped back towards the end while Tran starts today third in chips.

Blair Rodman opens the action with a raise from early position to 3,500. Action folds around to Daniel Negreanu in the big blind who calls and they are heads up to the flop.

"Oh look we are on TV," jokes Rodman as the ESPN crew gathers around the table.

The dealer spreads a flop of     and Negreanu quickly checks to Rodman, who checks behind. The turn brings the   and Negreanu now leads out for 5,600. Rodman calls.

The   falls on the river and Negreanu bets 12,500. Rodman thinks about it briefly and calls. Negreanu rolls over    to take down the pot.

Blair Hinkle opens to 3,700 from under the gun and picks up three callers in middle position, the cutoff and the button. 

James Kasputis, who is in the small blind, takes an account of the previous action and his own chip stack before announcing himself "all-in". 

The big blind and Hinkle quickly fold before Karen Thielen, in middle position, asks for a count. 

Kasputis' all-in amount is for 64,000 and after some thought, Thielen, who is playing just over 130,000 folds. 

Henry Lu folds the cutoff and the button passes as well, with each player not wanting to put their near 100,000 chip stack at risk. 

After the final fold, Kasputis finds himself increasing his stack by nearly 20,000 chips without even getting to the flop.
