Hands #72-78: Volpe Extends Lead, Shows Pair of Treys

Hand #72: Jason Mercier was in the big blind and received a walk.

Hand #73: Daniel Negreanu received a walk.

Hand #74: Mercier raised to 40,000 and picked up the blinds and antes

Hand #75: Negreanu completed the small blind and Volpe made it 58,000 from the big blind. Negreanu folded and Volpe took down the pot.

Hand #76: Mercier raised to 47,000 from the small blind and Negreanu called from the big blind. Both players picked up one new card. Mercier fired 52,000 and Negreanu called. Mercier tabled       which prompted Negreanu to muck his cards. Mercier raked in the pot.

Hand #77: Mercier had the button and raised to 40,000. Volpe called out of the big blind and picked up two cards. Mercier opted for just one. Volpe checked and Mercier fired 58,000. Volpe slid out a check-raise to 218,000, putting Mercier deep into the tank. After about a minute, Mercier dropped his hand into the muck. Volpe showed    and raked the pot, extending his chip lead.

Hands #67-71: Volpe Pushes Out Mercier

Hand #67: Jason Mercier raised to 42,000 from the small blind and collected the pot.

Hand #68: Jason Mercier opened the button to 32,000 and collected the blinds and antes.

Hand #69: Paul Volpe opened to 40,000 and Jason Mercier called from the big blind and drew two cards to Volpe's one.

Volpe bet out 52,000 and Mercier quickly folded.

Hand #70: Daniel Negreanu received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #71: Jason Mercier opened the button to 32,000 and Paul Volpe called and drew two cards to Mercier's one.

Volpe checked and Mercier bet out 48,000 before Volpe check-raised to 200,000 to force Mercier to fold his hand.

Hands #63-66: Volpe Makes Number-Three

Hand #63: Paul Volpe made it 40,000 from the small blind and Jason Mercier called from the big blind. Volpe drew one new card while Mercier opted for two. Volpe led for 100,000 and Mercier quickly tossed out a call.

Volpe fanned       but was ultimately bested by Mercier's       for a better ten low.

Hand #64: Volpe raised to 35,000 from the button and Mercier called from the small blind. Negreanu popped it up to 105,000 from the big blind. Volpe called and Mercier folded. For the draw, Negreanu stood pat and Volpe took one. Negreanu fired 200,000 post-draw and Volpe quickly let go of his hand.

Hand #65: Negreanu made it 45,000 from the small blind and Volpe called from the big blind. Each player took one card. Negreanu checked, Volpe fired 65,000, and Negreanu let it go.

Hand #66: Volpe made it 41,000 from the small blind and Mercier came over the top from the big blind with a three-bet to 117,000. Volpe called.

Volpe picked up one new card at the draw and Mercier rapped the table, signifying that he was pat. Volpe peered at his hand and came out firing for 220,000. Mercier looked down at his hand and let out a sigh. He eventually tossed out a call and Volpe rolled over number three -       - for the win.

Hand #60: Daniel Negreanu opened to 45,000 and Paul Volpe three-bet the small blind to 142,000 and Negreanu folded.

Hand #61: Paul Volpe raised to 33,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #62: Jason Mercier opened with a raise and collected the blinds and antes.

Hand #52: Daniel Negreanu moved all in from the small blind and Brian Rast folded his big blind.

Hand #53: Jason Mercier raised to 32,000 from under the gun and Paul Volpe called from the big blind. Both players took one card and checked post-draw. Volpe tabled a winning       and scooped up the pot.

Hand #54: Negreanu raised to 45,000 from under the gun and picked up the blinds and antes.

Hand #55: Rast moved all in from under the gun for his last 114,000. Negreanu called from the big blind and picked up one new card. Rast stood pat and the hands were tabled.

Hands #48-51: Ten is Good for Negreanu

Hand #48: Jason Mercier opened to 32,000 and Brian Rast made the call from the big blind and drew two as Mercier stood pat.

Both players checked as Mercier tabled a   (Xx)(Xx)(Xx) to scoop the pot.

Hand #49: Jason Mercier raised to 32,000 and collected the blinds and antes.

Hand #50: Daniel Negreanu opened to 45,000 from under the gun with Paul Volpe making the call from the small blind along with Jason Mercier from the big blind. Volpe drew one, Mercier stood pat and Negreanu drew one.

Volpe then took the lead by pushing out a bet of 122,000 as Mercier quickly mucked before Negreanu took his time before folding also.

Hand #51: Brian Rast raised to 45,00 and Jason Mercier called, as did Daniel Negreanu. All three players drew one card with the action being checked over to Rast who bet out 70,000.

Hand #43: Brain Rast opened to 40,000 from the small blind and Paul Volpe called from the big blind. Rast picked up two cards and Volpe picked up one new card. Rast checked and Volpe checked it back. Volpe tabled    for a pair, Rast mucked his cards, and Volpe was pushed the pot.

Hand #44: Volpe was under the gun and raised to 32,000 and Jason Mercier made it 92,000 to go from the button. Action folded back to Volpe and he folded as well.

Hand #45: Daniel Negreanu opened with a raise and picked up the blinds and antes.

Hand #46: Rast makes it 40,000 to go from his button and Jason Mercier calls from the big blind. Mercier pulls one new card and Rast opts for two. Mercier checked and Rast moved out 65,000. Mercier folded and Rast was pushed the pot.

Hand #47: Volpe made it 32,000 from the button and Negreanu called from the big blind. Both players picked up one new card at the draw. Negreanu checked, Volpe bet 125,000, and Negreanu folded his cards.

Hands #35-40: Wright and Negreanu Both Make Nines

Hand #35: Jason Mercier raised to 35,000 from the cutoff and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #36: Brian Rast pumped it up to 38,000 from the button and Larry Wright called from the big blind. Wright picked up one new card and Rast stood pat. Both players checked and Wright rolled over a nine perfect -      . Rast mucked and Wright raked in the pot.

Hand #37: Daniel Negreanu was under the gun and raised to 45,000. The rest of the table folded and Negreanu won the blinds and antes.

Hand #38: Rast was under the gun and raised the action to 45,000. Every player folded and Rast took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #39: Mercier raised his button to 32,000 and Negreanu called from the small blind. Rast let go of his big blind, leaving the duo heads up to the draw. Negreanu pulled one new card while Mercier stood pat. Negreanu led for 75,000 and Mercier called. Negreanu showed       which was good enough to take down the pot.

Hand #40: Negreanu opened his button to 45,000. Volpe moved all in over the top from the big blind and it folded back to Negreanu who kicked his cards in as well.

Hands #30-34: Negreanu Draws the Ten Against Wright

Hand #30: Larry Wright opened to 30,000 and Jason Mercier three-bet next to act to 84,000 to force folds from the blinds and Wright.

Hand #31: Daniel Negreanu opened to 35,000 and Larry Wright made the call before standing pat as Negreanu announced he had two pair and drew two.

Wright checked dark and Negreanu pushed out 90,000 and Wright called with Negreanu tabling his       to scoop the pot.

Hand #32: Daniel Negreanu opened to 35,000 and Paul Volpe called from the button. Negreanu drew one and Volpe drew one also.

Negreanu checked, and Volpe tossed in 56,000 as Negreanu deliberated for close to two minutes before folding.

Hand #33: Brian Rast raised to 31,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #34: Paul Volpe raised to 27,000 and Larry Wright made the call before Jason Mercier three-bet the button to 88,000. The blinds quickly mucked as Volpe called and Wright folded.

Hands #20-#23: Monnette Doubles, Mercier Scoops Massive Pot

Hand #20: Larry Wright raised to 24,000 from under the gun.

"Let's open this game up!" said Wright with enthusiasm as he tossed out the raise. John Monnette called from the big blind and pulled one card. Wright opted to stand pat. Monnette bet all in for his last 31,000, Wright called, and Monnette fanned      . Wright mucked his hand and Monette scored the double up.

Hand #21: Jason Mercier raised to 24,000 only to have Brian Rast come over the top for 73,000 total. Action came back to Mercier and he threw away his cards, awarding Rast the pot.

Hand #22: Rast was under the gun and raised to 31,000. He picked up the antes and blinds.

Hand #23: Paul Volpe was in middle position and cut out a raise to 24,000. Mercier made it 68,000 to go from the small blind. Volpe came over the top with a four-bet to 157,000. Mercier called.

For the draw, Mercier stood pat. Volpe waited about 20 seconds before taking one card. Mercier checked over to Volpe who checked behind. Mercier fanned       and picked up a sizable pot.

Hands #15-19: Wright Forcing Folds

Hand #15: Jason Mercier raised to 24,000 from under the gun and collected the blinds and antes.

Hand #16: Paul Volpe raised to 25,000 and both Larry Wright and Jason Mercier called from the blinds. Wright drew one, Mercier drew two and Volpe drew two.

All three players checked and Mercier tabled his       and won the pot.

Hand #17: Paul Volpe opened the pot to 25,000 and Daniel Negreanu pushed out a three-bet amounting to 80,000. Volpe folded and Negreanu was pushed the pot.

Hand #18: Paul Volpe opened to 27,000 from under the gun and Brian Rast defended his big blind as both players drew one card.

Rast then led for 48,000 with Volpe calling. Rast showed his       and Volpe instantly mucked.

Hand #19: Larry Wright raised to 24,000 and both Brian Rast and Paul Volpe called from the blinds. Rast drew one, Volpe drew two and Wright stood pat.

The action checked to Wright and he splashed the pot with a bet of 50,000. Rast went into the tank for over three minutes before folding as Volpe now took his turn entering the tank as he deliberated for close to three minutes also before folding.

Wright tabled his       and scooped the pot.

"I'm not bluffing anymore today Daniel!" added Wright in the direction of Daniel Negreanu.
