Dennis Summers, Winner of Event #5
Dennis Summers took down the 5th ring event of the World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Harrah’s Atlantic City on his 45th birthday after outlasting 164 entrants.
‘’I feel good. It is my birthday too. I just came to have fun, play a poker tournament.’’
Summers started the final table second in chips and played a solid game all the way.
‘’I felt good coming into the final table. I was second in chips and everything went well. A lot of people got hands when I didn’t have them so I just stayed out of the way and waited for my time. Everybody knew what they were doing.’’
When the heads-up battle started, Summers and his final opponent, Andrey Malinin, were almost even in chips. Summers quickly managed to take the lead and close it out within a level, claiming the winner title and his second Circuit ring.
He earned $14,612 for his first-place finish and intends to take a shot at more events.
