"The God of Thunder" - Brett Murray Winner of the Thunder Valley Main Event 

It's been two years running now that Brett Murray has won a Global Casino Championship seat at the World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Thunder Valley. Murray was the inaugural Casino Champion here at Thunder Valley's first circuit stop and now he's followed that up with his first Circuit Main Event title as well.  His success at Thunder Valley is so impressive, in fact, that some of the staff around the casino have started to dub him, "The God of Thunder," a nod to Thor from the Marvel franchise comics. 

And it's not really a surprise that Murray finds a lot of success here. It's a mixture of being a talented poker player and having his home and father just a stone throw away for him. READ MORE...

Brett Murray wins the Main Event at WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley, eliminating Viet Tran in one last big hand. The chips go in after a     flop, as Murray bets 800,000, Tran instantly moves all in, and Murray quickly calls. They expose their cards:

Tran needs a nine for the inside straight or runner-runner help. Instead it's a   turn and a   river, sealing Murray's third career Circuit win.

Catching action on a flop of     Viet Tran checks over to Brett Murray on the button and Murray puts out a bet of 200,000. Tran calls. 

On the   turn, Tran checks again. Murray puts out a bet of 550,000 and Tran calls. 

The river is the   and Tran checks a third time. Murray puts out a bet of what looks like 1,200,000. Tran doesn't ask for a count but moves all in. Murray quickly folds so Tran is able to take down the pot.

"I'm all in dark again," says Viet Tran, as he's raking in his chips from doubling up in the previous hand.

"Really?" asks Brett Murray.

Tran responds by quickly moving his pink chips forward as the cards are dealt, which are most of his 3.3 million stack. Murray gives his hand a brief look and folds, and Tran turns over his unchecked cards, which turn out to be   .

The flop is     and both players check to see the   on the turn. There, both players check again and the   hits the river. Murray checks over to Tran who puts out a bet of 400,000. Murray then check-raises, making it 2,400,000 and Tran doesn't waste too much time to call. Murray shows down his    for the nut straight.

"Nice hand," Tran says. He flashes his    for two pair but it's no good, so Murray takes down the big pot and takes over the chip lead.
