After a relatively short Day 2, Vittorio Faricelli has claimed the first World Series of Poker Circuit ring of the Foxwoods Series after taking down Event #1 ($400 No-Limit Hold'em) for $11,187.

Of the three players returning for Day 2, James Campbell was the shortest stack. Campbell was eliminated in the first level of the day, leaving Lowell Kim and Faricelli heads up for the title. Kim scored an early double up, but Faricelli slowly chipped away at Kim's stack until the two ultimately got it all in with Faricelli holding    against Kim's 10-9 of diamonds. Faricelli's ace-high was good the whole way, but he ended up rivering a straight just for good measure. Kim took home $6,914.00 for his second place showing.

In March of this year Vittorio Faricelli nearly won his first World Series of Poker Circuit ring after taking second place in the $365 No-Limit Hold’em Circuit event at Harrah’s in Atlantic City. Today, he closed out the $400 No-Limit Hold’em Event #1 at Foxwoods Casino earning, $11,187 for his victory.

Faricelli greatly attributes maintaining a positive attitude to his success in poker, “Everybody goes through ups and downs in life. It’s important to have gratitude to help you power through the rough times. After the thunderstorms comes the sunshine.”

Faricelli is also a newlywed, having married his partner Pamela in May of this year. “I am running great in poker and life,” Faricelli concluded with a smile.

END OF DAY 1
Friday, August 17, 2018 1:30 AM Local Time

Day 1 has just wrapped up in Event #1, and just three players remain from the 113 original runners. Vittorio Faricelli leads the pack, having ended the day with 774,000.

Here is a list of the final three players in order of chip counts:

Vittorio Faricelli - 774,000
Lowell Kim - 641,000
James Campbell - 274,000

The unofficial final table of ten was reached midway through Level 18 (2,500/5,000 blinds, with a 500 ante.) James Campbell led heading into the final ten. He obtained the chip lead one-off the money when he got involved in a three-way all in pot with pocket tens against a player's pocket twos, and the pocket aces of Joe Heinzmann. Both Camby and his opponent made quads, leaving Heinzmann with only ten big blinds on the stone bubble. Heinzmann got it all in a few hands later with ace-jack against Campbell's king-queen, and Campbell rivered a king to eliminate Heinzmann and burst the bubble.

The final three players come back for Day 2 tomorrow (Friday August 17th) at noon to play down to a winner. All have their eyes set on the $11,187 top prize, the coveted World Series of Poker gold ring, and the 50 Casino Champion points.
