David 'The Dragon' Pham

On Tuesday evening at the Bicycle Hotel and Casino, David Pham proved that the old school poker pros can still compete at some of the highest levels of poker.

Pham defeated a field of 705 entries to earn $216,790 in the World Series of Poker Circuit Bicycle Hotel and Casino main event. He wins his first Circuit ring and a seat into the 2018 Global Casino Championship to go along with a resume that includes three WSOP bracelets.

The win in Los Angeles continues his recent hot streak at the poker tables. Just last week, he won a major title in Las Vegas for over $240,000 and last summer at the WSOP, he won his third bracelet in a $1,500 no-limit hold’em for $391,960.... READ MORE

Tom Braband opens with a raise to 285,000 on the button. David Pham is in the big blind and he raises, making it 820,000. Braband thinks for a bit, then moves all in for right around 5 million total. 

"I guess it's probably 50-50," Pham says. "I call."

It's much better than a 50-50 for Pham who actually has the dominant hand. The     flop leaves Branband looking for a three or running straight cards. The turn is the   changing nowthing, and the river is the  . That seals it for Pham who has the covering stack. He wins the Bicycle Casino Main Event and will receive $216,790 for his victory as well as a WSOPC ring and a seat in the Global Casino Championship. 

Tom Braband will take home $134,145 for his runner-up finish.

The flop is     and Pham leads out for 300,000. Braband thinks for a minute, then raises to 850,000. Pham calls.

The turn is the   and Pham leads out again, this time for 1,225,000. Braband releases his cards, and Pham extends his lead.

On the   river, Pham fires again, this time making it 600,000. Braband thinks for a bit, but eventually decides to fold and Pham takes down the pot.
