Baseem Nsier entered Day 2 with 154,000 chips, but he's among the afternoon's first few casualties. Checking on his table, Andrew Ostapchenko is the one stacking the chips, and he's kind enough to provide the details.

Galen Hall Leads the Final 81

Only 81 players are returning today for Day 2 of the WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event. Leading the way after the first two flights of play is Galen Hall (293,500). Hall fired multiple bullets on Day 1a and Day 1b, but he was finally able to find some traction and his fast and aggressive style of play really started to work out for him. He finished Saturday night just ahead of Jeremy Meacham who bagged the chip lead for Day 1a with 289,000.

In total, 486 entrants and re-entrants combined to create the massive prizepool of $729,000 which was larger than both last year and two years ago. The final 54 players will all share a piece of that prize pool, but most are looking to go further than that. Awaiting the eventual champion of this event is a first prize worth $156,735 as well as a WSOP Circuit Ring.

Several others will also return today seeking a deep run including Kevin Calenzo (273,000), Greg Himmelbrand (262,500), Chris Leong (228,000), and Larry Greenberg (182,000). Also returning today are several players who made the final table of this event in 2016 including Johanssy Joseph (160,000) who finished 4th, Long Tran (135,500) who finished 7th, and Jeremy Meacham as well who finished 3rd last year. Twenty-seven players will fall before the money is reached so there is still some who will walk away with out a pay day.

Levels are increased in length for today, moving up to 1-hour levels as opposed to the 40-minute levels players are accustomed too from Day 1. The schedule is set for 10 more levels where players will attempt to play do to a final table. Action will resume at level 16 with blinds of 1,500/3,000 with an ante of 500, making average stack for the players remaining just about 40 big blinds.

Play will kick off in a couple short hours right at 12 p.m. EST so be sure to check back in to catch all the action from Day 2 of the WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event.
