Winner Event #9 - Bobby Corcione
Robert 'Bobby' Corcione - Winner Event #9 - $14,418

Robert ‘Bobby’ Corcione bested a field of 178 entries to win his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit ring, and $14,418. Corcione is well known in the Foxwoods poker scene, and is also known for his deep run in the 2012 $10,000 Main Event, for $294,600. Today Corcione can add Circuit ring winner to his already impressive resume.

Corcione said that he felt confident coming into today, and his confidence was boosted by his father, who stood on the rail all morning long as his younger name-sake took home the title, and crossed into the Foxwoods Casino Champion lead.

Only four players have bagged up their chips at the end of 21 levels in Event #9, and one of them has now officially taken the lead in the Foxwoods Casino Champion race. Caleb Clarke has two cashes this series, and both of them have been final table appearances. He placed 8th in Event #6 ($580 No-Limit Hold'em), and 4th in Event #4 ($580 Six Max). Prior to the start of this event (#9), he had 45 points in the casino champion race. He is now guaranteed at least 27.5 more, having locked up 4th place or better. Jason Gooch had the lead with 60 points, but Clarke has officially passed him.

Here is a look at the final four players as they head into Day 2 play tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Play will resume at 1 p.m. at Level 22 (6,000/12,000 blinds, and a 2,000 ante.)

Event #7, the $365 no-limit hold'em event,has reached the unofficial final table of Ten. The players have redrawn for their new seats.

Richard Wible leads the final ten players, with 330,000. The next closest players is Michael Hasbrouck, with 293,000. The remaining players are all guaranteed at least $1,041, and the first place prize is $14,418.

The top 18 spots will get paid with a min-cash worth $715. The top spot will take home $14,418, the gold Circuit ring, and 50 Foxwoods Casino Champion points.

The WSOP Circuit at Foxwoods Casino is getting closer to wrapping up, and the second $365 multi-day event is going to be underway at 11 a.m.  Here are the details for this event:

  • Players start with 10,000 in tournament chips
  • Blinds start at 25/50
  • Players are allowed unlimited re-entries while registration is open
  • Registration is open until the start of level 9 (~3:30 p.m.)
  • Day 1 is scheduled for 21 levels of play (Levels 1-18 are 30 minutes in length, and Levels 19-21 are 45 minutes in length.)
  • There are 15 minute breaks after levels 4, 8, 12, and 18
  • There is a 60 minute dinner break after level 15
  • Day 2 will begin on Friday August 25th at 1:00 p.m.
