South Africa Wakes Up

I almost spoke too soon. Raymond Rahme's railbirds woke up from a deep slumber after he doubled through Jerry Yang. The jumped up in celebration and began waving flags, singing in unison, and swaying back and forth. One of them even shouted out the intro music to ESPN's Sportscenter.

Before the flop is even spread out, Rahme's cheering section cheers, with several of his friends literally leaping into the air with excitement. Rahme takes a dominating lead with a pair of aces, as Yang has just one queen left in the deck to give him this hand. The Slow Down

Over the last couple of orbits, the players had to overcome a cold deck, bad jokes from tournament director Jack Effel, and an audience that was growing restless. The background conversations began to increase in volume as the spectators found more interest in chatting it up instead of following the subdued action. Jerry Yang's railbirds didn't have too much to cheer about. He's won a couple of smaller post, but he lost the last few big pots he played. The South Africa crew's spirit had definitely tapered off. They were noticeably silent ever since he lost that massive pot to Tuan Lam.

What's a 2 Million Raise?

Right now, an opening raise of 2 million might become standard among the final four players. That represents 100 starting stacks or 100 entries. Players started on Day 1 with 20,000 in chips.
