The remaining players are heading on a 90-minute dinner break. Play will resume at approximately 8:15 p.m. (PDT).

With the dinner break upon us, more than half of Day 1A is in the bag, as just another two levels await players once they're fed, rested and ready to resume battle.

Level 3 began with Fabian Quoss and Kelly Minkin continuing their battle as Quoss made a wheel on the turn against Minkin. Andy Black would see his river bluff raise not get the resulted he intended as he dropped back to roughly starting stack.

Although Kevin Schaffel (pictured above) began the level as chip leader, he would soon have some tough competition as Brandon Steven surged into the six-figure club before Fedor Holz would join them when his aces eliminated a player and their pocket jacks.

Unfortunately, many players would also find themselves on the rail. Jon West and his top pair went down to Erik Cajelais' rivered two pair before Tony Cousineau fell to quads. Andrew Lichtenberger hit the rail after a rumored aces versus kings confrontation while Chris Klodnicki, Scott Ball, Jason Mo and Alex Fitzgerald (pictured below) all found themselves changing their dinner reservations.

As the last few seconds ticked down for the level, it would be Schaffel surging back ahead of Holz and Steven, but it would be Mel Wiener heading into dinner break as chip leader with 138,250. Schaffel (119,275), Krishnan Menon (115,700), Stephen Costello (113,300) are his closest rivals while Fabrice Soulier, Billy Kopp, Erik Seidel and Bryan Campanello will have some work to do once play resumes, as they are some of the short stacks still fighting it out.
