Mike Michnik gets the last of his 4,450 into the middle before the flop, after another player does the same with a slightly smaller stack out of the big blind.

A third player in the hand sizes up the vulnerable stacks, and after assessing the damage, he plunks in a calling stack to put two opponents at risk.

Michnik reveals    to find himself well out in front of the caller's   , while the big blind shows down

The flop brings a sweat, coming     to give the big blind a flush draw, but the turn ( ) and river ( ) blank off to send Michnik well earned triple up.

Mike Michnik - 14,500

"Someone do my chip count," says Steve Frakes as he holds his last two chips in his hand, "I used to be a pro."

Meanwhile, the action is on Frakes on the button after an under-the-gun call and subsequent folds.

"Call," Frakes says loudly, now holding only a 1,000 chip.

The small blind calls and the big blind checks as four players await the flop.

The action checks to Frakes who goes all in by chucking his last chip into the pot on a flop of    . The small blind and under the gun players both call.

The turn comes   and both players, with chips left to bet, check.

The river is   and again both players check.  Frakes flips up    for a straight.  The remaining players muck and Frakes stays alive, bringing his chip count to 4,800.

With one short stack player all in and over 5,500 in the pot, Mukul Pahuja bets 2,400 on a       board. His opponent flicks in a chip signifying a call and Pahuja confidently rolls over   . His opponent knuckles the table before tossing his cards into the muck and the short stack player flips up    before making his way out of the tournament area.

Mukul Pahuja - 62,000

Savino Nunez limps on the button for 400 and the player in the small blind puts in the extra 200. George Danzer in the big blind spies an opportunity and moves all in for just over 3,000.

Nunez makes the call and waits for Danzer to turn over his     before showing his    .

The board runs out           and the remains of Danzer’s stack slide over to Nunez.

“You really wanted to bust me eh?” Danzer says as he gathers his belongings. “Nice trap.”

Savino Nunez, 15000

Brian Pinkus looks to be the current chip leader with approximately 60,000 in chips. Pinkus had an excellent 2014 at the WSOP with five cashes in No Limit Hold'Em tournaments here at the Rio. He's looking good to continue where he left off as the tournament heads towards the finish line for the day.

There is over 6,000 in the middle on a board reading     and Richard Seymour checks from the big blind. Corey Mueller checks from middle position to Phil Hellmuth who fires out a bet of 1,700. Seymour releases his hand into the muck and Mueller raises to 4,000. Hellmuth wastes little time in clicking it back to 7,000 and throws his chips into the middle when Mueller moves all in.

Hellmuth:
Mueller:

The turn brings the   and Mueller hits his only out to reverse the roles as now Hellmuth needs to catch the lone ace in the deck to survive. The   falls on the river and after counting down the stacks it is determined Mueller just has Hellmuth covered. Hellmuth stands up and shakes Mueller's hand, congratulating him.

"People love to get it in like that against me, but usually they have more than one out."

Corey Mueller - 24,600

The board comes       giving Onat a set and the triple up.

Nicholas Palma dropped down to just 1,200 earlier in this second starting flight, but after coming close to elimination, he has pushed back to the realm of respectability.

In a recent win, Palma sits in the cutoff playing a heads-up pot on the turn, with the board reading     . His opponent checks to prompt a long stare down from Palma, who eventually decides on a 2,100 wager. The checker nearly beats Palma into the pot with a call, and before the river is dealt, the pro asks his opponent "what do you need?" in reference to the draw-heavy board.

The board is completed with the   and suddenly the checker wakes up with a bet of 4,000. Palma thinks for only a few seconds before committing the calling chips, and his    is good enough to trump

Nicholas Palma - 23,000

Mukul Pahuja has been one of the most consistent and feared players on the poker circuit in the past couple of years, and he is continuing his stellar play in this event right now. We recently pegged his chip stack at 48,000, which is easily one of the top stacks in the event so far. We will keep an eye on Pahuja to see if he can keep raking in the chips as we enter the second half of play today.

Nick Palma was all in with very few chips left near the end of level six and doubled up with   . He is steadily increasing his stack and 25 minutes into level seven he is sitting at 15,800. He has had fifty-two career cashes, three wins, and almost a half of a million dollars in career earnings.

It's the end of level 6 and players are heading into their second 20 minute break of the night. Players from the earlier portion of the 1B flight are still spread throughout the Rio, but as the late wave starts to file into Brasilia, 1B tables in Amazon are being broken and sent to the Pavilion.

The action has not slowed down as we have seen quite the dynamic develop between 13-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth and three-time Superbowl Champion Richard Seymour. Seymour has three-bet Hellmuth a few times, sparking a small outburst from the Poker Brat.

More big names have continued to fill seats as Mukul Pahuja, Tyler Bonkowski, and 2014 WSOP POY George Danzer, but the Colossus has been unfortunate for some big names as well as we lost both Scotty Nguyen and David Bach in the last stretch of three levels.

Play will resume at 11:40pm.

Friday, May 29, 2015 11:25 PM Local Time

Aleksandr Gofman is short stacked as most of the players at his table are getting up for their break. He shoves all in with 4,600 and gets called.

Gofman is ahead with    against   . The board runs out       giving Gofman the pot and a reason to come back from the break.

Pocket threes has been a popular all in hand today, one that didn't work out so well for David Bach.

A player in middle position raises to 700 and Steve Pirri puts in an additional raise making it 2,500. It is folded to the small blind who four-bets to 4,050. The original raiser, a look of frustration on his face, thinks for a bit and folds. Pirri wastes little time and tells the dealer "I'm all in."

The floor comes over while Pirri's opponent is thinking about what to do and tells the dealer to put out a high card after the hand is over. Pirri's opponent peeks at his cards twice and then pushes them to the dealer.

"Are we breaking the table?" asks Pirri. He receives confirmation that the table is breaking and turns over a pair of aces. He'll move to his new table with a healthy stack of 23,500.

Raymond Dandrea was down to under 3,000 for a while, but he just locked up a double up that has him above starting stack.

Facing a raise, Dandrea shoves all in for 2,800 with   .  His opponent makes the call with   , and neither player is able to improve, keeping Dandrea in the lead, and giving him the full double up.

Robert Gray may be playing live in the biggest tournament in poker history but that doesn’t stop him playing on his laptop at the table at the same time.

Gray is taking advantage of the ability to play on WSOP.com while at the Rio and is currently in the $30 rebuy. “It’s a great tournament. I finished seventh last night and I’m in the money in this one.” Gray said.

Kheang Tang raises to 500 in early position. A player goes all in for 3,700. Tang calls and flips   . The other player shows   . The board comes      . Tang loses all but a green chip (25) to trip Jacks.

The next hand, Tang is all in for the 25 ante under the gun. A player raises and everyone folds. The board comes      . Tang wins the antes with his    giving him a flush and exactly enough chips for his big blind and ante for the next hand.

Tang is hoping for a walk but he gets called by the player next to him. Nick Palma bets 600 and gets two callers. The flop comes    . Palma is first to act and bets 1,300. The other two players fold. Palma wins the side pot and shows    to vie for the antes and blinds against Tang. Tang flips over   . Palma and the rest of the table are rooting for Tang to get there. The turn is the  . Palma tells Tang, "You can still get there, man" as he leans in to see the river. The river is the   and Palma eliminates Tang with a pair of aces.

Phil Hellmuth has a lot to say to Richard Seymour. Over the last few minutes Seymour has three-bet Hellmuth twice, with Hellmuth folding both times.

The first hand, Hellmuth raises to 900 from middle position and Seymour reraises to 2,200.  Hellmuth debates raising, but decides to fold.

The second hand, Hellmuth opens for 550.  "Here's your chance, do it again," Hellmuth says. Seymour grants Hellmuth's request and reraises to 1,800.

"I should have busted you before," Hellmuth says as he mucks his hand again.

Phil Hellmuth - 10,400
Richard Seymour - 14,500

After a late position open to 600, Michael Zaun is next to act in the hijack, and he three-bets to 1,600.

Action folds around to the opener, and he eyes up Zaun's stack before flicking out a call.

The flop falls     and the opener checks it over to Zaun, who tosses out a bet of 2,000 without much hesitation. Once again the opener examines Zaun's stack, which at this point sits at right around 5,000 or so. After assessing the situation, the opener calls Zaun's bet and peels off a turn card, which brings the   on board.

At the sight of an ace the opener suddenly leans forward and heaps his remaining 4,000 into the middle, the move resembling Phil Hellmuth's overexcited additions to the pot when he likes what he sees.

Zaun wastes no time in announcing the call, tabling    as he does so, and the opener can only show down a dominated   . In a flash the dealer delivers the   on the river, and Zaun stands up while exhaling for the first time in what seems like a while, pumping his fist once before retaking his seat.

With the knockout Zaun moves over 18,000 in chips.
