Good afternoon from the Rio, and welcome to Event #2 of the 2015 World Series of Poker. The first open event of this 46th WSOP is the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em, and the Amazon Room is prepped and ready for its season premiere.

Last season, this event was buried deep in the summer schedule as Event #49. It drew a field of 696 players, culminating in a tough final table that included the likes of John Dolan, Kevin MacPhee, and Jean Gaspard. By the time the three scheduled days had ended, David Miscikowski and Norbert Szecsi were still locked in a stalemate in their heads-up duel. The two men returned for a bonus Day 4 where Miscikowski claimed the bracelet and the $719,707 top prize.

The tournament staff went ahead and built the extra day into the schedule this time, so it will be a full four-day event. If the Twitter chatter is any indication, the field will be big, stacked full of familiar faces, and a lot of fun to follow.

Cards go in the air at 4:00 PM PDT. While you wait, check in on the coverage of Event #1 by clicking here.
