Cards are in the air for Day 3 of the Horseshoe Tunica Main Event.

Tom Thomas

The third and decisive day of play in the Horseshoe Tunica Main Event begins at noon CT with eight players remaining. Chip leader Johnny Landreth and second place Tom Thomas (pictured) top the field holding nearly 70 percent of the chips in play between them. Landreth claims 3,155,000 while Thomas is just shy of his pace with 3,000,000. Remarkably, they are the only two players over the 1,000,000 mark.

The next closest player, Norman McKeldin, holds 790,000 chips and looks to avenge a runner-up finish he carded in this same event in 2013. Others at the final table include five-time Circuit final tablist Jeremy Drewery (370,000) and Keith Murrell (230,000) who makes the second Main Event final table of his career.

Here's a look at the complete start-of-day chip counts:

Play restarts with blinds of 15,000/30,000 and a 5,000 ante

1. Johnny Landreth - 3,155,000 (105 BBs)
2. Tom Thomas - 3,000,000 (100 BBs)
3. Norman McKeldin - 790,000 (26 BBs)
4. Happy Nakhoneinh - 740,000 (24 BBs)
5. Jay Bishop - 580,000 (19 BBs)
6. Jeremy Drewery - 370,000 (12 BBs)
7. Jamie Strickland - 235,000 (7 BBs)
8. Keith Murrell - 230,000 (7 BBs)

Each of the remaining players has locked up $17,185 while the tournament's champion earns $147,388, a Circuit gold ring and a berth in the National Chamionship.
