Phan Takes From Cohen

Sam Cohen opened to 50,000 from early position, Andy Phan called on the button and the flop fell    .

Cohen continued for 78,000, Phan raised to 200,000, Cohen reraised to about 430,000 and Phan reraised all in with the bigger stack. Cohen gave it some thought, but ultimately folded.

A Double for Raptor

A short-stacked David "Raptor" Benefield moved all in for 153,000 from early position and Justin Oliver called. The rest of the field folded and the cards were turned up.

Benefield:
Oliver:

Benefield was behind and in need of some help, and he got a little on the     flop, which gave him an open-ended straight draw. The   turn actually gave him the lead with kings, and although the   river gave Oliver two pair, it gave Benefield the aforementioned straight.

Salsberg Closing in on a Million

Andy Phan opened for 40,000 from the button and Matt Salsberg defended his big blind. Both players checked the     flop, and then Salsberg led out for 45,000 on the   turn. Phan called and then bet 100,000 when Salsberg checked the   river.

Salsberg called with the    for a pair of jacks, and it was good as Phan held the   .

Chris Johnson Eliminated in 11th Place ($30,267)

Chris Johnson - 11th Place

Chris Johnson had been fairly quiet on Day 3, and as a result his stack dwindled. In what would ultimately be his final hand, Johnson raised to 40,000 under the gun and was met by a three-bet to 250,000 from Andy Phan in the big blind. Johnson had 410,000 total and put it in. Phan called.

Johnson:
Phan:

Johnson's was in a bad spot with his pocket pair, and the dealer failed to deliver salvation as the board ran out a dry      .

With that the final ten players will combine to a single table and move over to the ESPN main stage. Cards will be back in the air shortly.

Raptor on the Verge of Extinction

Thad McNulty opened for 40,000 from the hijack and then called when David Benefield three-bet to 110,000 from the cutoff. McNulty then check-called a bet of 130,000 on the     flop and both players proceeded to check the   turn.

When the   completed the board on the river, McNulty fired out 250,000 and Benefield called. McNulty rolled over the    for a full house and Benefield mucked.

McNulty Gives Up His King

Jamie Armstrong opened for 40,000 from the hijack and Thad McNulty and Sam Cohen called from the button and big blind respectively. Cohen then checked the     flop, Armstrong bet 85,000, and McNulty called. From there, Cohen sprung to life with a check-raise to right around 330,000 and both her opponents folded, but not before McNulty showed the  .

Armstrong vs. McNulty

Sam Cohen opened for 40,000 from the cutoff and Jamie Armstrong called on the button. Thad McNulty then three-bet to 100,000 from the big blind, Cohen folded, and Armstrong made the call.

The     flop saw McNulty bet 155,000, Armstrong called, and then the two checked both the   turn and   river. McNulty tabled the    for a rivered set, and it was good as Armstrong mucked.

Scott Davies - 12th Place

Justin Oliver opened for 40,000 from early position and was met by an all-in three-bet to 327,000 by Scott Davies on the button. The blinds both folded and Oliver made the call.

Oliver:
Davies:

Davies had a decent pair, but Oliver had one slightly better. Davies was in desperate need of a ten, but he was left wanting after the board ran out a dry      .

Yong Lu Eliminated in 13th Place ($24,277)

Yong Lu - 13th Place

Action folded around to Yong Lu on the button and he moved all in for 271,000. The small blind folded and then Thad McNulty tank-called from the big blind.

McNulty:
Lu:

It was a race, but not after the flop came down     to give McNulty a set. The   turn gave Lu a gutshot straight draw, but the   river failed to complete it.

Cohen vs. Armstrong Once Again

Sam Cohen raised to 35,000 under the gun and Jamie Armstrong called from the hijack. David Benefield came along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of    . Benefield checked, Cohen bet 55,000, and only Armstrong called.

When the   appeared on the turn, Cohen bet 80,000 and Armstrong called. The   river saw Cohen slow down with a check, but she still called when Armstrong bet 150,000.

Armstrong tabled the   for two pair, and it was good as Cohen mucked her cards.

Cohen Putting Her Chips to Good Use

Sam Cohen opened for 35,000 from the butoff and then called when Jamie Armstrong three-bet to 85,000 from the button. The blinds both folded and it was heads-up action to the     flop. Cohen checked, Armstrong bet 100,000, and Cohen sprung to life with a check-raise to 250,000. It did the trick as Armstrong released his hand.

Cohen vs. Benefield in 1.25 Million Pot

David Benefield opened for 30,000 from the hijack and Sam Cohen pushed back with a three-bet to 90,000 from the button. Action folded back to Benefield and he asked how much Cohen had started the hand with, which was roughly 625,000. Benefield thought for awhile before four-betting to 225,000 or so, and Cohen instantly moved all in. Benefield didn't seem excited but dropped in some chips nonetheless.

Cohen:
Benefield:

The     flop gave both players a set, meaning had the hand played out differently the chips would more than likely have gotten in one way or another. Neither the   turn nor   river were the one outer Benefield was looking for, and Cohen made her way to the rail to celebrate with her supporters, which includes Tristan Wade.

Hutter Continues to Slide

Thad McNulty opened for 30,000 under the gun and Barry Hutter defended his big blind. Both players checked the     flop, and then Hutter checked the   turn. McNulty bet 40,000, Hutter check-raised to 115,000, and McNulty called, which brought about the   on the river.

Hutter moved all in and McNulty called off for 220,000. Hutter tabled the    for a bluff, and McNutly doubled through with the   .

Grayson Nichols Eliminated in 14th Place ($24,277)

Grayson Nichols - 14th Place

Action folded to a short-stacked Grayson Nichols on the button and he moved all in for 85,000. The small blind folded, but Jamie Armstrong, who had chips to spare, made the call from the big.

Nichols:
Armstrong:

Nichols got it in good, and he stayed in the lead on the     flop. That's when disaster struck as the dealer burned and turned the   to put two pair on the board. That gave both players jacks and tens, which meant Armstrong's ace kicker had him out in front. The   river was of no consequence, and the counterfeit sent Nichols out the door in 14th place for $24,277.

Marius Pospiech Eliminated in 15th Place ($24,277)

Marius Pospiech - 15th Place

Marius Pospiech opened for 25,000 from early position and Matt Salsberg, who was seated to his immediate left, three-bet to 57,000. Action folded back to Pospiech and he four-bet all in for roughly 220,000. Salsberg called and Pospiech found himself in dire straits.

Pospiech:
Salsberg:

It was the same situation Justin Kindred found himself in before falling in 16th place, and like that hand there would be no shenanigans as the board ran out a clean      .
