Hand #96: Davidi Kitai called from the button, Gordon Vayo limped the small, and Tony Ruberto checked his option from the big. The     flop saw two checks put action on Kitai, and he came out with a bet. It was enough to do the job as both Vayo and Ruberto folded.

Hands #87-91: Kitai and Ruberto Continue to Lock Horns

Hand #87: Davidi Kitai 90,000 and Tony Ruberto called in the big blind. Both players checked the    . The   landed on the turn, Ruberto bet 85,000 and then folded to a raise to 300,000 from Kitai.

Hand #88: Ruberto completed his small blind and Kitai checked in the big blind. Ruberto checked the     flop and called a bet from Kitai. The   was the turn card, Ruberto checked it, Kitai bet 110,000 and Ruberto called.

Kitai made a continuation bet of 90,000 and Vayo called. The   made an appearance on the turn and Kitai welcomed it with an 180,000 bet. Again, Vayo called.

Vayo turned over    and won the pot with his pair of queens.

Hand #90: Kitai limped on the button, Vayo folded and Ruberto checked his option. Ruberto then checked to Kitai on the     flop and then check-raised Kitai's 55,000 bet to 235,000 and Kitai ducked out of the way.

Hand #91: Vayo folded his button, Ruberto completed the small blind and Kitai raised to 130,000 and Ruberto called.

A     flop was checked by both players. The turn was a third six, the   and Ruberto check-called a 65,000 bet. Both players checked the   and chopped the pot as they were both playing the board, Kitai with    and Ruberto with the

Hand #80: Davidi Kitai limped from the small blind, Gordon Vayo checked his option from the big, and the flop came down    . Kitai bet 55,000, Vayo called, and the   appeared on the turn. Kitai tabled    for a pair of tens, but it was no good as Vayo had queens with the   .

Hand #81: Davidi Kitai limped the button, Gordon Vayo called from the small blind, and Tony Ruberto checked his option from the big, making it three-way action to the     flop. Vayo checked, Ruberto bet 90,000, and only Kitai called. The   turn saw Ruberto bet 195,000, Kitai called, and the   completed the board on the river. Ruberto bet again, this time a hefty 515,000, and Kitai called.

"I have eight high," Ruberto said. Kitai then tabled the    for a winning queen high.

"Did you see my hand?" Ruberto asked only half jokingly.

Hand #76: On a     flop Tony Ruberto checked from the small blind and Kitai made it 80,000 to play only to see Ruberto check-raise to 325,000. Kitai called and the pot grew ever larger.

The turn card was the   and again Ruberto checked, putting the action on Kitai. A bet from Kitai of 380,000 was met with an all-in check-raise from Ruberto and Kitai looked genuinely pained in his decision making. He turned to face Ruberto before folding.

Ruberto is on a tear right now.

Ruberto:

Ruberto held top pair, but it was no good as Kitai had flopped two pair. Ruberto needed either a seven, eight, or five on the river to stay alive, and wouldn't you know it, he found one when the   spiked. Just like that Ruberto went from the short stack to having 2 million in chips.

Pre-Dinner Interview With Chip Leader Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai

We caught up with Davidi Kitai as he prepared for the dinner break to see how the two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, and owner of poker's coveted Triple Crown, has managed to accumulate such massive stacks on each day of the tournament. And of course, we couldn't resist asking the proud Belgian how it felt to be called a "crazy Frenchman" by none other than the "Poker Brat" himself Phil Hellmuth.

PokerNews: Davidi, you seem to be on a tear in this tournament, finishing Day 1 in the top five on the leaderboard, bagging the second-largest stack after Day 2, and entering the final table with more than a million chips separating you from your closest competitor. Now, as you head off to dinner, you've built a castle of 4,695,000, while none of your four remaining opponents even has a million. How have you been able to consistently build such an impressive stack?

David Kitai: I started the day like second in chips, so I started with a good stack, and everything went well. I had Phil Hellmuth on my right and we play many pots together, and I don't know, I didn't lose many pots today. So I ran good, I played good, and that's really it.

PokerNews: Speaking of Phil, he had an interesting quote earlier in the day after you three-bet him out of yet another pot. He said "crazy Frenchman is going to cost me my 14th bracelet … You have no chance to win sir." Obviously, you're not from France, you're a proud Belgian. What would you like to say to Phil now that he's not here, perhaps a geography lesson or a primer on the great nation of Belgium?

I mean, the confusion happens often because of my sponsorship with Winamax, so it's not that big of a deal. The good part is that I realized he didn't know me from the beginning, so I started to three-bet more, and to play more aggressive against him.

PokerNews: You'd think the man with more bracelets than anybody else would know that you won your second bracelet just last year.

No he didn't know, he didn't know anything. He called me a "random French guy," so that was obviously a good point for my image.

PokerNews: You're back on the WSOP final table stage competing for a third bracelet, but both of those came in Pot-Limit Hold'em events. How does this experience compare — are you more comfortable now that you've been here before, or does the spotlight shine just as brightly every time you make it to the peak?

It's completely different actually because it's six-max. Most of the time I prefer six-max; the game has more aggression and is more fun as well.
