Event #56: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em

The conclusion of 10 levels happened just 25 hands into heads-up play, with Nikolaus Teichert and Vincent Maglio set to return tomorrow at 1 p.m. They will then finish what they started and determine who will claim the World Series of Poker gold bracelet and the first-place prize of $730,756. Heads-up play began with the players nearly equal in chips, but at the conclusion of the night, Teichert leads with 7,620,000 while Maglio holds 5,415,000.

The day started with 23 players and it took about five hours for the final table to be set, with Sebastien Comel the chipleader as nine-handed play began. The road to the final table saw the following players, whose names you might recognize, making the money: Jonathan Tamayo (23rd) and Owen Crowe (11th), as well as Day 2 chipleader OJ Ojiri (19th).

It took 22 hands before the first elimination from the final table occurred. Nicolas Levi finished ninth, when his    ran into the    of Teichert. Levi's elimination was followed by that of Sebastien Comel, when his    couldn't hold against Josh Arieh's   . It took over one hour to lose our seventh-place finisher, Nicolas Faure, when he found his    dominated by Teichert's   .

Just six hands later, the next elimination came when Kirill Rabtsov couldn't win a race against Sergey Lebedev. Another hour went by before fifth-place finisher, Josh Arieh found himself all in with one pair against the nut straight of Vincent Maglio. Thirty-eight hands went by before the fourth-place finisher, Sergey Lebedev shoved with king-high into Maglio's ace-high. Just three hands and a few minutes later, Dan Owen ran his    into Teichert's    for a third-place finish.

Hand #121: Vincent Maglio raised to 200,000 and Nikolaus Teichert folded.

Hand #122: Teichert completed the small blind and Maglio checked his option. Maglio led for 125,000 on the     flop and Teichert made it 400,000. Maglio folded and Teichert took the pot.

Hand #122: Maglio raised to 200,000 and Teichert reraised to 600,000. Maglio released his hand.

Hand #123: Teichert raised to 200,000 and Maglio reraised to 550,000. Teichert called and the     flop was dealt. Maglio continued for 375,000 and Teichert folded.

Hand #124: Maglio raised to 200,000 and Teichert 400,000. Maglio called and the     flop was dealt. Teichert bet 500,000 and Maglio folded.

Hand #106: Nikolaus Teichert raised to 200,000 and Vincent Maglio folded.

Hand #107: Maglio raised to 200,000 and Teichert made the call. Both players checked the     flop. Teichert folded to a bet of 175,000 by Maglio on the   turn.

Hand #108: Teichert raised to 200,000 and Maglio came along. Maglio checked the     flop and teichert bet 250,000. Maglio made the call and checked the   turn. Teichert checked behind and the   river was dealt. Maglio led for 375,000 and Teichert called. They each had a ten in their hand and chopped the pot with two pair.

Hand #109: Maglio raised to 200,000 and Teichert made the call. Maglio won the pot with a 175,000 bet on the     flop.

Hand #110: Maglio recieved a walk.

Hand #111: Maglio raised to 200,000 and Teichert reraised to 600,000, Maglio folded and Teichert won the pot.

Hand #112: Teichert folded to a reraise by Maglio.

Hand #96: Nikolaus Teichert raised to 200,000 and Dan Owen made the call. Both players checked the     flop. Owen led for 275,000 on the   and Teichert released his hand.

Hand #97: Vincent Maglio raised to 200,000 and Owen and Teichert both come along. All three players checked the     flop. Owen checked the   turn, Teichert made it 275,000 and Maglio called. Both players checked the   river. Teichert showed    and won the pot with a pair of queens.

Hand #98: Owen raised to 350,000 and Teichert made it 600,000. Owen answered by declaring all in and Teichert snap-called.

Hand #85: Vincent Maglio raised to 175,000, and only Dan Owen called. The     flop, and Maglio bet 125,000. Owen called. A   turned, and Maglio bet 385,000 this time. Owen called quickly, and the river was the  . Maglio fired 700,000, and Owen called once more. Maglio showed    for a turned two pair, and he dragged the massive pot.

Hand #86: Maglio raised to 160,000 on the button, and Nikolaus Teichert called in the big blind. The flop came    , and both players checked. A   fell on the turn, prompting a 275,000 bet from Teichert. Maglio called, and the river was a  . Teichert fired 1,000,000, and Maglio called. Teichert showed    for a backdoor straight, and Maglio mucked.

Hand #87: Maglio raised to 160,000, and Teichert and Sergey Lebedev called out of the blinds. The blinds checked to Maglio on the     flop. He bet 235,000, and both opponents folded.

Hand #88: Owen raised to 160,000, and Maglio called in the big blind. He then checked the     flop, and then called a bet from Owen. A   turn brought two checks and a   river. Maglio bet 350,000, and he took the pot.

Hand #77: Vincent Maglio bet 125,000 on an     flop, and Dan Owen called. Josh Arieh moved all in, and Maglio did the same without hesitation.

Hand #72: Teichert raised to 175,000 and Owen made the call. Both player check the     flop. Owen checked the   and Teichert made it 500,000. Owen folded and Teichert took the pot.

Hand #73: Arieh raised to 160,000 and Owen called. Owen checked the     flop and Arieh continued for 125,000. Owen raised to 500,000 and Arieh folded.

Hand #74: Owen raised to 225,000 and it folded around.

Hand #75: Sergey Lebedev, Arieh, Owen and Teichert went to the flop for 60,000 each. Lebedev made it 175,000 on the     flop and everyone folded.

Hand #76: Owen raised to 175,000 and it folded over to Maglio who moved all in. After some thought, Owen decided to fold.

Hand #67: Josh Arieh raised to 125,000 followed by the all in of Vincent Maglio. Arieh folded and Maglio took his second pot in a row.
