Weissman Gone

Joey Weissman

We do not know how the action went preflop, but we know some kind of raising went down between Joey Weissman in the small blind and Ken VanHo in the big blind. Once that was settled both players were witness to the flop.

It was here on the flop that Weissman bet out 6,500. VanHo countered by raising it up to 17,000. Weissman than announced "all in" for his remaining 65,000 and VanHo went into the tank. After a few moments went by Vanho made the call and cards were tabled.

Weissman:
VanHo:

Weissman needed any heart to fall on the turn or the river in order to snatch the hand away. The on the turn was not the answer, and neither was the on the river.

Weissman was subsequently eliminated, and his hunt for bracelet number two came to a halt today.

The Sporting Andrew Dean

There was an early position jam from a short stack and Andrew Dean took his time before also moving all-in. Dean turned over and explained that he took his time so his opponent could ladder if he lost - nice chap. His opponent did turn over the weaker hand - - and the board of confirmed Dean's victory

Justin Schwartz Has Been Eliminated by Jonathan Ko

Justin Schwartz

We have just seen Justin Schwartz asking if he can late reg the $1,500 after being eliminated. His table told us that a short-stacked Schwartz ran into and despite hitting his ace on the flop, Ko also hit a nine for a set.

The Clock Tiks On

John Eames raised from early position and the table folded around to the blinds who both called. The flop came prompting a check from the small blind and a check from Sergey Tikhonov in the big blind. Eames bet out 6,500 and the small blind folded. Tikhonov took his time deciding what he wanted to do and in the end made the call.

The on the turn paired the board and again Tikhonov checked. Eames fired out 13,200 which prompted the rest of the table to play the waiting game, as Tikhonov went deep into the tank. A couple of minutes went by of Tikhonov measuring out chips before eventually putting out a min raise. Eames thought for awhile then folded his cards.

After the hand Eames pleaded to see one card. All Tikhonov could do was show his dismay that a call wasn't made. Tikhonov even went on to say "call.. call.. call..", causing the rest of the table to comment that that's the most Tikhonov has said in the past two days.

Sometimes It's Smart to Take on Risk

David Smart has just doubled up through Nick Abou Risk. We caught the action on a flop of , Smart had bet 10,000 from mid-position and Risk had made a raise from late position. Smart moved all-in, Risk called and we had a showdown with Smart at risk of elimination (so many risks!)

So Smart was in the lead with trip 7's but he had a lot of cards to fade. The dealer put the and the on the board and Smart won the hand with a full-house.

Buddiga Crippled

A player in late position raised it up to 4,000, and Pratyush Buddiga three-bet to 10,700 from the button. The late position player made the call and both players were allowed to see the flop.

The board came and the late position player checked to Buddiga. Buddiga took this opportunity to bet out 12,200. Buddiga's opponent countered by throwing out a bet of 20,000. The late position player needed to raise it to 24,400 though and did just that. Buddiga's response was to move all in, and the late position player snap called.

Buddiga:
Opponent:

Buddiga was going to need a nine if he wanted to survive. He didn't receive a nine on the turn, but he did receive a good card. The on the turn allowed for a king to be a potential out going to the river. The on the river though brought everything crashing down, and Buddiga was crippled.

We have just seen Gionni Demers and Brad Libson win some chips and Alex Kravchenko lose some.

In the first hand we saw Demers all-in holding against the of a short stack. The board ran out and Demers was up to 130,000.

Then we saw the after effects of a pre flop argument between Brad Libson and Alex Kravchenko. Libson was holding and Kravchenko had . The board ran out and Libson had doubled up. Kravchenko, who started the day as one of the chip leaders, now has 50,000.

Owen Crowe Eliminated by Brett Shaffer

We are midway through level fourteen and we have squeezed the field down to one hundred and twenty four players. One of the casualties of poker warfare has been Owen Crowe. Crowe has come so close to earning himself a gold bracelet, on several occasions, but today is not his day.

We didn't see his exit but the table have told us that the action folded around to Crowe in the cutoff, and he moved all-in for around 16BB holding suited and Brett Shaffer called holding pocket tens.

Shaffer, who also has WSOP final table experience, then went from being up to being down when he ran pocket nines into pocket queens, and his opponent hit quads to reduce Shaffer to around 20,000.

Triple Up for Mishra

Allan Mishra started the action off in a recent hand by moving all in. A player in middle position then moved all in, and the big blind did the same. Everyone else folded and cards were exposed.

Mishra:
Middle Position:
Big Blind:

The flop came giving Mishra hope that a three could save him. The on the turn was enough and Mishra shot out of his chair in excitement. The on the river put an end to things. Mishra had the big blind covered, and possessed 600 less chips than the middle position player, so he was still clinging to life.

John Eames Doubles Up Through Joseph Kuether

John Eames is a UK Pro with close to $1.5 million in tournament earnings. His impressive results include a 3rd place finish at the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Copenhagen in 2011 for $257,011 and two World Series of Poker (WSOP) final tables that include Event #5: $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em where he finished in 8th place for $18,529 just a few short weeks ago.

Earlier we brought you news that Eames had fallen to just 5,000 before spinning it up to 50,000. That was when he was plying his trade in the Tan Section over at Table #354. That table has just broke and Eames was shifted to the nearby Table #353 and this happened in his very first hand.

Joseph Kuether raised to 4,000 from under the gun and Eames three-bet from position. A few folds later and Kuether announced he was all-in and Eames called instantly.

Eames
Kuether

The board ran out and the total count of Eames stack was 78,700. A setback for Kuether, but great news for Eames.

Kuether Climbing

Joseph Kuether now has ten World Series of Poker (WSOP) cashes after getting through the money bubble in the early hours of this morning, half of which have come during this year. So the man is on form and his 180,000 stack is testament to that fact. Here is Kuether winning another pot.

Kuether made a standard raise from the cutoff and the big blind defended before leading on all three streets on a board of . The betting amounts were 6,000, 7,000 and approx. 15,000. The bets were rapid as were the calls by Kuether. The big blind turned over for two pair (queens and jacks) and Kuether turned over for a higher two pair (aces and jacks). The big blind was eliminated not soon after.

Boyd Busted

A player from under the gun started action off by raising it up to around 3,000. Dutch Boyd then flatted, and Will Jaffe in the big blind three-bet to 9,600. The under the gun player took his time, but eventually made the call. Next it was onto Boyd who moved all in for around 40,000 more. Jaffe made the call and the under the gun player folded.

Boyd:
Jaffe:

Boyd held a strong advantage going to the flop, but anything can happen. The flop came , further pushing the advantage in Boyd's favor. The on the turn sling-shotted Jaffe into the lead, a lead he would not relinquish as the fell on the river.

Boyd said "that is so disappointing" and made his exit.
