Hallaert Hanging Out on Broadway. Down By the River.

We just watched Kenny Hallaert send a player off in a bit of an unfortunate beat for the amateur player. The money was all in by the time we walked up, the unknown gentleman at-risk for just less than 15,000 with his . The board ran sour, though, coming to river him away down Broadway.

Hallaert has begun the after-dinner session moving the right way, upping his count to 50,000. There or thereabouts.

Terry Doubles with Aces

Todd Terry and another player got all in preflop. Terry held and his opponent held . The board ran and Terry doubled up to 53,000.

Galfond Doubles, Still In Bad Shape

Phil Galfond has been on life support for awhile, sitting with around 3,000 chips. In a recent hand we managed to be walking by as a player from middle position made a 700 chip bet preflop that happened to fold around to Galfond in the big blind who opted to move all in. A call was made and cards were tabled.

The cards came out and Galfound managed to hold on and double up, putting him around a meekly 5,000 chips.

Heimiller Eliminated After Kings Cracked on the River

A player in middle position raised to 800 only to have the button three-bet to 3,000. Dan Heimiller then four-bet all in from the small blind for 12,100. The original raiser folded while the button made the call.

Heimiller's kings were far in the lead, and the flop didn't hurt his chances. The turn have the button a gut-shot straight draw to go along with his draw to any ten, so all Heimiller needed to do was dodge the river. Unfortunately for him, the spiked on the river to crack his kings and put an end to his 2011 WSOP.

The Fast and the Thewrious

Chau Giang opened to 800 and was called by Julian Thew and both blinds, they saw a flop of where the small blind led out for 725 and the big blind made it 2,225. Giang folded but Thew moved all in for 8,400. The small blind tanked for several minutes before folding then the big blind quickly followed with a shake of his head. The former seemed annoyed, more out of the fact he had to fold with a player still to act than anything else.

Two Months Two Million

Two Months Two Million was a show starring Jay Rosenkrantz, Brian Roberts, Emil Patel and Dani Stern where playing online cash games, the four tried to make $2,000,000 collectively during two of the summer months of 2009. The show aired on G4 and was a pretty big hit. It only lasted for one season and while the four have stayed under the radar in the poker world for the most part since then, all four are playing the Main Event today. Rosenkrantz (who is the mind behind the upcoming BOOM! doucmentary and co-founder of popular web cartoon The Micros) already busted, but the three others are still in it and doing fine.

Emil Patel, who has already had two deep runs at this year's WSOP in Pot-Limit-Omaha events is sitting with 23,000, Dani Stern has 22,000 and Brian Roberts has the biggest stack with 60,000

Shak Stacks Up

Our PokerNews reporter caught the action in a battle-of-the-blinds situation between Beth Shak and the player in the big blind on a board that read ; Shak checked to her rival who bet 500, but she called before both players elected to check down the river .

"Two pair," the big blind said, but didn't show after Shak said, "I have a flush," as she turned up .

Shak's now up to more than 35,000 after that hand.

Seif Plays It Safe . . . and is Right!

With 20,000 in the pot and a board reading , Tony Hachem fired out a bet of 11,000, which clearly frustrated his opponent, Mark Seif, who hit the tank.

"Show me if I fold?" Seif asked.

"Up to you," Hachem replied.

Seif shot back in his chair and seemed even more perplexed. "Why did you have to say that?," he asked. "How do I fold top set?" Seif thought for a long time before folding face up.

"Wow, what a great fold," Hachem complimented his friend as he showed the superior . In fact, the whole table chimed in and congratulated Seif on a big fold.

Amateur or Pro?

Given the large field, one would think another amateur will be joining this list come November; however, there are still plenty of pros left in the field to stop them.

A prize pool of $64,531,000 was created, with over $8.7 million reserved for the winner.

We'll be on hiatus for 90 minutes, but in the meantime, read on to learn of all the interesting Level 3 developments.

First and foremost, let's get to the list of eliminations that fell during Level 3. They included Frank Kassela, Jesse Martin, Nichoel Jurgens (formerly Nichoel Peppe), Melanie Weisner, Abe Mosseri, Tom Marchese, Cyndy Violette, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and Jennifer Tilly.

Not everyone was so unfortunate in Level 3. Alan Sternberg (86,000) and Andrew Chen (131,000) managed to add to their big stack; while Chris Limo (130,000) Douglas Smith (103,800), Justin Filtz (94,000), Joe Tehan (86,000), and Antony Lellouche (77,000) are all among the big stacks.

The Numbers Are In

The WSOP tournament staff just announced the official numbers for the 2011 World Series of Poker. A total of 6,865 players registered for this event, making it the third largest Main Event in WSOP history. A prize pool of $64,531,000 million was created, that will be distributed among the top 693 finishers.

First place . . . $8,711,956. Not too shabby considering some skeptics thought the number at this year's Main Event wouldn't surpass 5,000. We'll be entering the numbers in our system soon, so be sure to check out the "Payouts" tab in a bit.

Clements the Bluff Catcher

Scott Clements was tanking on the river of a board, his opponent on the button had fired out 3,500 and Clements was debating the call. Finally he chucked out 4,000 chips to make the call but neither player wanted to show their hands.

Finally the button turned over the missed uber-draw that was and Clements scooped with to pick up a nice pot just before the dinner break.

Limo Taking People for a Ride

As we were doing a pass through the tournament floor, we noticed Noah Boeken had chipped up nicely to 85,000. Not far away, we also discovered what could be the biggest stack in the Pavilion White section. It contained approximately 130,000 worth of chips and belonged to Boyadjian Yervand, which is quite the name to type out; luckily for us, he goes by "Chris Limo."

We'll be sure to keep track of Limo's progress throughout the day and see if he'll be able to ride his big stack into Day 2.

Jennifer Tilly Eliminated

Jennifer Tilly - busto

Having been crippled in a previous hand, we just managed to squeeze through the crowd to see Jennifer Tilly move the last of her money in with before the flop, only to run into the of Anthony Valiente.

Neither hand improved when the dealer spread the board of and Tilly's now enjoying an early dinner break.

Shawn Buchanan Crippled

Our reporter picked up the action between a player in the small blind and Shawn Buchanan on a flop of ; the small blind led out for 4,000 into a re-raised pot and Buchanan called, then fired out a rather colorful bet of 8,975 on the turn of the .

Again, Buchanan called, but on the river of the , the small blind snap-shoved and Buchanan insta-mucked. It hasn't been a great level for Buchanan and he's now staring down at a paltry stack worth 14,600.
