Big One for Little

A player sporting a stack of about 80,000 who had just been moved to the table a hand before opened with a UTG raise to 600, and three players called behind him. Maynard Little then made it 2,100 to go from the button, and everyone got out except the original raiser.

The flop came . Little's opponent checked, Little bet 4,200, and his opponent called. The turn then brought the . And some fireworks.

Little's opponent checked again, and Little fired a bet of 6,500. His opponent responded by check-raising big to 28,000. Little paused, then declared he was all in for about 80,000 total. His opponent -- covered by about 5,000 by Little -- made the call.

Little showed for top set while his opponent had for both a flush draw and an open-ended straight draw. The river brought the , giving Little a boat and sending his opponent railward.

Little pushes way up to 170,000 with that hand, the biggest stack in the immediate vicinity by far, and perhaps all around thus far on Day 1d.

Burkholder Boosts Stack

The board read when we arrived at Steven "PiKappRaider" Burkholder's table. He was heads up with an opponent who checked, and Burkholder tossed out 2,100. His opponent check-raised to 6,000, and Burkholder tank-called.

Burkholder's opponent mucked, and Burkholder opened up for top two pair.

Cheong Strong

Joseph Cheong

A player in middle position opened for 800, the player to his left called, and it folded around to Joseph Cheong in the big blind who called as well.

The flop came . Cheong checked, the preflop raiser bet 1,500, the third player called, and Cheong called as well. The turn was the . Cheong checked again, and the raiser kept at it, firing 4,000 this time. His neighbor to his left folded, and Cheong considered the situation. He asked what his opponent had left -- about 11,000 -- then called the bet.

The river brought the , a possible filler of straight or flush draws. Cheong didn't hesitate at all, setting out a column of chips totaling 37,000, well above what his opponent had left. About 15 seconds later, his opponent's cards were heading to the dealer face down, and the pot was being swept to Cheong.

After that one, last year's third-place finisher in the 2010 WSOP Main Event is now sitting with about 54,000.

Russian Out of Here

Alex Kravchenko's table (which he shared with Jeff Lisandro) was moved to the mothership feature area but the Russian has since been eliminated from the tournament, there will be no repeat of 2007 for him this time.

Demidov Dusted

Just as Ivan Demidov got himself all in, the ESPN cameras swarmed, and it sort of bumped us out of a line of sight. We only have tidbits. Demidov was all in with , and Beth Creedmoor was slightly behind but drawing live to the knockout with her .

The board was... well, we're really not too sure. But we did see the somewhere in there, and that was all Creedmoor needed to send the 2008 runner up on his way. You'll see the rest on TV, we suppose.

Bonding Folds River

From early position, Lars Bonding raised to 900. Action folded around to the player in the small blind and he reraised to 2,400. Bonding made the call and then the dealer ran the flop. The small blind continued with a bet of 3,400. Bonding called.

The turn brought the and the small blind fired 6,200. Bonding called again to see the river.

The paired the board on the river and the small blind fired all in for 20,475. Bonding began to tank after getting a count from the dealer. Bonding tanked for several long minutes before finally making what looked to be a very painful fold.

Cousineau Coolered

Tony Cousineau's 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event has come to an end. He was just eliminated by Grant Hillman in the following hand.

Action folded to Cousineau in the cutoff seat and he raised to 1,025. Hillman was in the small blind and when action got to him, he three-bet to 2,525. Play got back to Cousineau and he four-bet all in. Hillman called.

The flop, turn and river ran out to keep Hillman's aces in the lead. At the final count, Hillman's 20,050 was more than what Cousineau began the hand with and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Coughlin Climbing

When walking past Table 369, we noticed that Patrick Coughlin had four-bet to over 15,000 preflop - more enough to put his opponent all in. His opponent, who was using a toy train car as a card protector, stacked his last few chips on the mini locomotive, and pushed it forward.

Coughlin held as the board ran , pushing his stack to an impressive 118,000 chips.

Tough Decision for Hamby

With 36,000 in the pot through the turn on a board, Jared Hamby checked from the small blind and his opponent on the button moved all in for more than 50,000! Hamby had a decent stack of 32,000 behind and was put to the test.

Hamby tanked for a solid three minutes, oftentimes visibly shaking. Clearly this was a tough decision and a crucial point in his tournament. He must have decided there would be a better spot as Hamby eventually laid down his hand.

Hachem Chips Up

The action folded around to Joe Hachem who raised to 800 before the flop from the small blind; the big blind player made the call, so they went heads-up to a flop of , where Hachem led out for 1,200.

The big blind player called, but then folded after the 2005 WSOP Main Event champion fired out 1,900. Hachem's now back up to more than 37,000 in chips.

Ups and Downs at Table 127

We were watching a hand being played between Raymond Davis and an opponent at the far end of Table 127. Meanwhile, Rob Pisano leaned over to let us know he had 72,200 at the moment.

"How much?" asked Lyle Berman, sitting a couple to Pisano's right. "72," he said. "What do you have?" "92," answered Berman, indicating the 92,000 sitting in front of him. "That's a woooorld apart," he added with a grin, and the two commenced to talk about the now-eliminated player from whom Berman secured that chip advantage over Pisano.

Meanwhile Davis was raising to 1,100 from the cutoff and his opponent on the button called. The flop came . Davis checked, his opponent bet 1,350, and Davis called. The turn was the , and Davis again check-called his opponent's bet, this time for 2,700.

The river was the . Davis checked one more time, his opponent fired an 8,000-plus chip bet, and Davis instamucked. He now how 38,000.

Doug Lee Dominating

As the PokerNews Live Reporting Team made their way past Doug Lee's table, we noticed that Lee was sitting on a rather sizeable stack. When we enquired as to what happened, Lee explained that all the money was in the middle after a flop of .

"Set over set," Lee said. "He had fives, I had sevens. I'm on about 140,000 now." Boom!

Exasperated Huck

We don't know exactly what happened preflop, but we know a raise took place because there was a decent amount already in the pot. With a flop a player in middle position bet out 1,200. Action was on Huck Seed who quickly and calmly made the call. The turn brought another bet from the player in middle position, this time for 2,500. Seed seemingly reacting and not thinking made the call very quickly again.

With a river both players slowly checked. The player in middle position flipped over first and showed . Seed then went on to make a very long groan of displeasure and dropped his cards in the muck.

Toll Booth Bradley

On a flop, Brad Booth checked, and he let his lone opponent bet 2,200 before raising to 5,500. Mr. Opponent reraised all in for 10,200, and Booth quickly called with his much-bigger stack.

Booth had flopped the joint with a straight flush redraw that he'd not end up needing. Top set failed Mr. Opponent as the turn and river sent him on his way.

Booth is up to 91,000 now as the push for the Day 1d finish line heats up.

Small Win for Victor

Victor Ramdin

A short-stacked player opened with a raise to 850 from early position, and it folded around to Victor Ramdin who defended his big blind. The flop came and both checked. The turn was the . Ramdin bet 1,200, and his opponent called.

The river brought the and checks from both players. "Sixes," said Ramdin, tabling . His opponent exhaled. "Not my day," he said, showing his and staring down at his stack of just over 6,000. "Nothing's good at the moment."

Ramdin's day hasn't gone that well -- he's at 17,000 at the moment -- but he's still smiling. Winning even a small pot will do that for a player.

A Hollywood Ending?

As we reported earlier Shannon Elizabeth is very short stacked and if the night continues like this it would be like a Scary Movie for her. Should she gain 65,000 more chips Day 2 could be a 70's Show for her. But if she only chips up 4,000 more her stack might look like Thir13een Ghosts staring back at her.

The Grand bagging process might led her to feel Love Actually for the WSOP. But if she doesn't bag up at the end of the night she'll be as mad as some Tomcats. So let's her tablemates play softly against her and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back against another player. Then we'll all be happy and have some American Pie.

Jacks for Bax

Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy opened to 750 from under the gun, and Lars Bonding called out of the small blind. The flop came down , and both players checked. The turn was the , Bonding led for 1,000, and Josephy called. Both players knuckled after the completed the board and Bonding opened up .

Josephy had the best hand, tabling , and won the pot to push his stack to 24,000 chips.
