What started with 3,175 players is now just one. Jason Somerville was our Day 2 chip leader and he waded through a crazy day of play to take down the bracelet in fine fashion. We started today with 27 players and within 40 minutes we had already set a final two tables. Within three hours we were down to an action final table that saw a multitude of chip leaders, double-up after double-up, and eventually just Somerville with the bracelet. He won a few key hands late to regain the chip lead and ride it to victory, including this giant all in flip against Yashar Darian when they were playing four handed.

Richard Fridvalszki raised to 140,000 under-the-gun, Yashar Darian re-raised it to 500,000 on the button and Jason Somerville re-raised all in for 2,500,000. Yashar called with and Somerville showed .

The flop came to give Somerville a full house. The turn was the and Darian was still drawing to an ace or a king. The river was the and Somerville doubled up to 5,100,000 and had over half the chips in play. Darian fell to only 1,500,000 after the hand

Somerville has previously finished fifth, fourth, third, and second in WSOP events, but finally completed the wheel with a win today (maybe it was because his good friend Daniel Negreanu was on the rail the whole time). Either way, he ran hot, he played hot, and he is our champion, Congrats Jason Somerville on your first WSOP bracelet!

On the very first hand of heads up play, Jason Somerville raised his button to 125,000. Yashar Darian three-bet to 350,000. Somerville thought for a bit before counting out chips to make a 950,000 raise. Just as he was sliding this chips in, Darian announced that he was all in and Somerville snapped him off.

Although Somerville had the chip lead entering heads up play, this pot was for about 90% of the chips and would more or less determine a champion. The flop came out and Somerville wouldn't win his first bracelet without a sweat. The turn was the but he still had to dodge five outs. The river bricked with the and Darian finished just one short of the bracelet.

On the button, Travis Atkins moved all in for his final 450,000. Both Jason Somerville and Yashar Darian called and the board ran out . It wasn't until the river that Somerville bet out 150,000 and Darian folded.

Somerville opened up , just barely beating the of Travis Atkins.

With that pot, Somerville will take the chip lead heading into heads up play. He has 5.2 million and his opponent, Yashar Darian will start with 4.25 million.

Jason Somerville raised to 100,000 on the button. Richard Fridvalszki then re-raised all in for his last 750,000 from the big blind and Somerville insta-called and turned over having the of Fridvalszki dominated.

The board ran out and Somerville moves up to 4,300,000 going into three handed play.

Yashar Darian called a button raise from Richard Fridvalszki out of the small blind and the two went heads up to the flop. The board came out , Darian let Fridvalszki continue for 165,000 and Darian called. The turn was the and both players checked to see the river. Darian fired out 200,000 and Fridvalszki thought for a while and even stood up before throwing in the chips. Darian showed which was good enough to win the hand.

The very next hand, Darian raised his button to 100,000 and both Jason Somerville and Travis Atkins called out of the blinds. The flop came and all three players checked. The turn was the and again, all three players checked. The river was the and this time Atkins led out for 100,000. Darian made the call and won with the .

With those two pots he has moved his stack back into the chip lead with 4.5 million.

From under the gun, our new chip leader, Jason Somerville, raised to 100,000. Action folded to Yashar Darian in the big blind who made the call. The flop came and Darian checked to Somerville who bet 150,000. Darian thought for just a few seconds before announcing he was all in for 1.4 million. Somerville checked his cards again and made the call.

Daniel Negreanu, who is friend with Somerville, is drinking and decided to narrate the hand to the crowd. "We need a seven! Give us a seven... or a nine would be ok too," he said. The turn was close, but neither. It was the and Somerville needed one of the two remaining Aces. Negreanu let everyone know in case anybody was falling behind. The river was the and Somerville gives some of his new found chips back to Darian.

Travis Atkins folded, first to act, before Richard Fridvalszki raised all in for 680,000. Yashar Darian looked down at his cards and quickly called. Jason Somerville, in the big blind, got out of the way.

Darian had Fridvalszki in bad shape with against . Before the flop Fridvalszki walked over to his friends and it looked like he anticipated a celebration. The flop came and they erupted, jumping up and down and cheering. The turn quieted them down, however, because Darian had picked up a flush draw. The river bricked though giving the Fridvalszki bucnh a reason to cheer again.

With the double, he now has 1,500,000 while Darian falls to 3,760,000.

Yashar Darian raised to 90,000 from the button, Jason Somerville re-raised to 255,000 from the small blind and Travis Atkins moved all in for 675,000 from the big blind.

Darian folded and Somerville said, "Well I have good news, I think you have the best hand, but I don't think I can fold." He made the call with and was way behind the of Atkins.

The flop was which was as good a flop as Somerville could've hoped for. The turn was a to take away a few of his outs, and the on the river secured the double for Atkins.

From the button, Alexander Martin raised to 90,000 and Jason Somerville asked for a count of Martin's chips. It came back at 1.2 Million total and Somerville three-bet to 245,000. Martin thought for three or four minutes before announcing he was all in. Somerville double checked his cards and made the call.

The flop came which gave Martin six extra outs. The turn was the which left Martin with just three Aces, two Queens and four Sevens to survive. The river was the and he was sent home in 5th Place.

Yashar Darian and Jason Somerville now control about 80% nearly 10 Million chips in play with 4.5 and 3.5 Million, respectively.

From late position, Jason Somerville raised to 80,000 and Gian Carlos Oliveri moved all in for 280,000 next to act. It folded back to Somerville who wasted little time in making the call.

The flop helped solidify Somerville's lead when it came but the turn gave Oliveri new life. He needed one of the eight remaining hearts to double up and stay alive but the the river bricked out with the .

Somerville has now reached 2.8 Million chips.

This final table is taking place on the featured table right next to the ESPN set. It has room all around it for spectators and boy are there plenty of them. In certain spots they are three or four deep watching these guys go at it for the WSOP gold bracelet. Others are even standing on the top of the ESPN set to try and see over the crowd.

Jason Somerville has had a strong rail going all day and in the past hour or two had quite an impressive run of notable pro's sweating him. Earlier, Jason Mercier came by to wish him luck and now Daniel Negreanu has "court side" seats to watch him try to take it down.

Alex Martin also has a group of over a dozen friends standing behind him who he has consulted with after certain hands. We have already seen how crazy and fun the English can be when they rail so they will certainly be a group to keep an eye on as the tournament goes even deeper.

Jason Somerville opened from under the gun to 75,000 and received calls from Alex Martin on the button and Diana Allen in the big blind.

The flop came and Allen led right out with a 100,000 chip bet. Somerville flatted and Martin folded. The turn was the and Allen slowed down with a check. Somerville took the lead and bet 200,000 which was called by Allen.

The river was the and Allen put the aggression back in her hands with an all in bet worth 705,000. Somerville started counting out the chips, trying to figure out how much he would have left and thought on the decision for a couple of minutes. Finally, he looked right at the dealer and announced a call. Allen flipped over for a pair of Jacks and Somerville tabled for a pair of Kings.

Allen will go home with $63,493 while Somerville takes his role as second in chips with just six left.

Jason Somerville and Travis Atkins have been at the same table for the better part of Day 3 and tangled again in a recent hand.

Atkins limped in from under the gun, Somerville completed his small blind and Gian Carlos Oliveri checked his option. The three players saw the flop and all three players checked. The turn was the and Somerville led out this time for 50,000. Oliveri quickly kicked in his hand but Atkins made the call. The river was the and Somerville bet 135,000 this time. Atkins made the call again and Somerville tabled for a rivered straight. Atkins mucked and Somerville has chipped up to 1,500,000

Preflop, Jason Somerville raised it up to 60,000 from the button and got a call from Travis Atkins in the big blind.

The flop came and Atkins checked. Somerville bet out 105,000 and Atkins check-raised to 275,000. Somerville then re-raised all in. Atkins tanked for about five minutes before eventually folding the hand and giving Somerville the pot.

Alex Martin opened the betting with a raise to 75,000 from the cutoff. Yashar Darian called from the button as did Jason Somerville from the big blind.

The flop came and it checked to Darian who bet 125,000. Somerville folded and Martin threw in the chips. The turn was the and this time they both checked. The river was the and Martin checked for a third time. After a few moments, Darian announced that he was betting 250,000 and began counting out the chips. Martin tanked for a couple of minutes before letting go of his hand and leaning back to tell his rail what just happened.

Travis Atkins raised to 70,000 from the cutoff preflop and Yashar Darian made the call from the big blind.

The flop came and Darian bet out 85,000. Atkins quickly made the call.

The turn was the and Darian checked. Atkins counted out 150,000 and threw it into the pot. Darian considered the action then re-raised all in with an insta-call from Atkins for 540,000 total.

Darian flipped over for trip tens, but Atikins had for trip tens with the superior kicker. The river was the and Atkins took down the big pot. He now sits with over a million chips but Darian is still comfortable with over two million.
