Event #30: $1,600 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event

A few more eliminations have the tournament clock saying 47 players are left, meaning we are two away from the money.

After putting in 15,000 each preflop, two players saw a flop of    . The player in middle position bet out 22,000 and received a call from Steve Goff in the cutoff. When the dealer burned and turned the  , the middle-position player moved all in for 70,000 and Goff quickly called:

The   was run out on the river for good measure as Goff chipped up to 500,000.

ET MacMurray, who began the day as one of the big stacks, was recently eliminated from the tournament. He got all in preflop holding    and was called by the    of Christopher Juul.

The     flop paired Juul and left MacMurray in bad shape. The   turn and   river ensured MacMurray's elimination from the WSOP-Circuit Harrah's St. Louis Main Event just shy of the money. On the other hand, Juul has managed to chip up to 215,000.

A short-stacked player moved all in preflop holding    and ran straight into the    of ET MacMurray. Unfortunately for MacMurray, the flop came down     and gave his opponent a set. The   was no help, and MacMurray was left looking for a king on the river. It was not meant to be, however, as the   hit. MacMurray dropped to 220,000 after the hand.

Kyle Cartwright, who started the day with 47,500, has been on quite the heater. The Harrah's Tunica Casino Champion recently eliminated an opponent when he held    in the big blind against the    of the small blind on a board reading      .

Cartwright's full house brought him one step closer to the money and gave him a stack of 150,000.

"Cowboy" John Land had a rough going early on Day 2. He doubled a couple short stacks after losing    to both pocket nines and fours. That left him short stack, and likely a bit frustrated. Things must have continued to get worse for Land, and ultimately led to his elimination as his former seat is now empty.

Not long after the Elimination of Dennis Phillips, the WSOP-Circuit Harrah's St. Louis lost another big name in 2004 WSOP Main event Champion Greg Raymer. It began when Raymer and an opponent got all of the money in on a board containing     {X}. Raymer held    for a broadway straight, but couldn't overcome the    flush of his opponent. That hand crippled Raymer.

Not long after, Raymer got his remaining chips in with    against the pocket kings of Mark Koeln. The board did not deliver the help Raymer needed and he was eliminated from the Main Event. Meanwhile, Koeln is up to 175,000.

On a flop of    , Dennis Phillips checked only to have chip leader Harris Paroya throw in a bet. Phillips opted for a check-raise, Paroya shoved, and Phillips called off his remaining stack:

It was a brutal set-over-set situation, and Phillips found himself on the raw end of the deal. He needed the last four in the deck to keep his WSOP-Circuit Harrah's St. Louis Main Event hopes alive, but neither the   turn nor   river were it. Just like that, the well-liked St. Louis native was sent to the exit. Meanwhile, Paroya is up to 506,000.

As it turned out, Fleddermann was eliminated, Baker was left with just 10,000, and Thomassie chipped up to 250,000. We're not sure when the money went in, though the flop seems the most logical place.

Randy Weigel had been clinging to a short stack for quite some time when he moved all in under the gun with    and received a call from a player holding   . The board ran out rather uneventful and Weigel managed a double to 60,000, which is still relatively short.
