Michael Zelman - Chip Leader

This morning marked the beginning of Day 2 of the $1,675 WSOP Circuit Main Event at The Bicycle Casino where a total of 130 total players battled it out for one of the top 72 in-the-money spots. Most of those players made it to Day 2 by bagging in either Flight 1A or Flight 1B.  An additional 12 players chose to directly buy into Day 2 and begin with a 20,000 chip stack at the 1,500/3,000 blind level.

There will be 11 players returning to play Day 3 tomorrow.  Michael Zelman leads the way with 2,585,000 in chips.  Just behind him is Valentin Vornicu who ended with 2,520,000.  Rounding out the top three is Josh Pollock with 1,410,000. Full chip counts can be found in the Reports Tab.

The prizepool was released after the start of play due to the allowed pre-start of day buy-ins, totaling $961,500 to shared by the 72 cashing players, with first place paying $197,110.  The bubble burst in the third level of the day in a series of two back to back hands.

A few of the more notable players that unfortunately finished shy of the money today included Matt Salsberg who bought directly into Day 2 and was eliminated in the first few minutes of play, actor and poker player Bill Fagerbakke, WSOP Colossus winner Cord Garcia, and Circuit regular Jesse Capps.

Roland Israelashvili came into Day 2 first in chips with 252,000.  Coming in second and third respectfully were Jose Mendoza (243,000) and Matthew Herrera (240,500).  None of these players made it through to Day 3.  Mendoza took 26th place ($5,970), Herrera 17th ($9,940), and Roland Israelashvili 12th ($14,825).

A few additional notables that finished in the money today were Circuit regular Neil Scott (65th, $2,690), two-time WSOP bracelet winner Tuan Le (36th, $3,980), and nine-time Circuit ring winner Alex Masek (31st, $4,500).  Perhaps one of the more interesting cashes of the day belonged to Piotr Brodzik.  Brodzik was one of the players that chose to buy directly into Day 2 this morning and start the day with seven big blinds.  Brodzik spun those chips up over the course of the day and ultimately finished in 19th place, cashing for $8,290.

The final day of the Bicycle WSOP Circuit Main Event in 2015 will kick off at 12 noon PST tomorrow, and you can follow all of the action here at WSOP.com. The remaining eleven players are guaranteed to take home $14,825 for their efforts, but each one has their sights set on the $197,110 first prize payout, the coveted gold ring, and a seat into the 2016 WSOP Global Casino Championship.
