Thuy Dong Kawamo Advances to Day 3 with 612,000 in chips
After nine hours of play, Day 2 of The Colossus has officially drawn to a close.

The day began with 3,447 total entries hitting the felt in the hopes of eventually winning a WSOP bracelet in the largest live poker tournament in history. By the end of the evening only 506 players remained.

The bubble burst early in the day in Level 13 with nine players all-in and all nine players busting out. Due to the number of busts outs on the bubble those players all split the equivalent of two paid min-cashes.

Unfortunately for approximately half of the returning Day 2 players, their dreams were dashed early. Some of those to hit the rail without making the money include Joseph Cheong and Richard Seymour.

A few notable players that did manage to cash in Day 2 were: Eddy Sabat (2213th), Greg Raymer (2162nd), JC Tran (2102nd), Greg Muller (1867th),Vanessa Rousso (1558th), Lily Kiletto (1445th), Chris Tryba (1198th), Allen Kessler (1191st), Aaron Massey (796th), Erick Lindgren (717th), and many more.

Finishing the day with some of the top stacks are those of Valentin Vornicu, who is one of the only players over the million chip mark, Larry Elliott (730,000), Shahen Martirosian (714,500), and Adam Lamphere (650,000). The female with the highest chip stack moving to Day 3 is Thuy Dong Kawamo (612,000, pictured above).

Other notable players that managed to make their way to Day 3 include Christian Pham (572,000), Mike Rocco (542,000), Ryan Laplante (425,000), Jessica Dawley (357,000), Kyle Loman (132,000) and Taylor Von Kriegenbergh (70,000). Former WSOP bracelet winner Will Givens also ended the day with 610,000.

Play will resume tomorrow in the Amazon Room of the Rio at 2 p.m.

McFarland takes a minute to stare down his opponent, eventually announcing himself "all-in". He has his opposition covered and when the player across the table snap calls, McFarland quickly turns over    for top pair.

His opponent tables    and once McFarland sees that, well, let's just say, he adds a little injury to insult.

"Now you see?" McFarland asks, joking with the players around him, saying, "Barreling three streets, that's as thin as it gets folks."

His line looked thin to his opponent but his stack is anything but now, as he's over the 400,000 chip mark with just 15 minutes remaining in this Day 2 session.

When the field returned from their last break, there was a more or less even split between the active tables in the Pavilion Room.

That is no longer the case, as it looks like close to half the field has been cut down over the last hour and a half, with only two tables remaining in the back 'black' area.

Those players who were formerly playing there are now all sectioned in the 'white' area, with close just over 550 players still remaining.

It has been a long grind for players through this Day 2 session, as the field started with over 3,000 returning players and that number has been cut drastically over the last few hours.

But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for those that are still alive, as there is just one hour long level before players bag up for tomorrow's third Day.

Updates will continue through to the end of Day 2, with a complete recap coming at the completion of Level 19.

Jimmy D'Ambrosio, Millionaire Matchmaker's eligible batchelor, is sporting a cast on his right hand. He says he's lost a knuckle in a boxing injury but this is disputed by fellow player Dylan Wilkerson.

Wilkerson, who made two final tables in last year's WSOP, suggests D'Ambrosio is feigning the injury. According to Wilkerson, the cast may be a prop in D'Ambrosio's lady killer arsenal.

If the cast is a desperate ploy to gain attention, it could be a sign that D'Ambrosio's luck is out.

The   gave her a bit of a sweat, as Smith had an open ended straight flush draw, that bricked out as the   completed the board.

"She was trying to trap," says Taylor von Kriegenbergh who was in the big blind and "happy I didn't wake up with kings, I would have shoved."

With the pot, Kawano is now playing close to 650,000 and is not only the biggest female stack in the room, but also one of the biggest stacks period remaining in this Day 2 'The Colossus' field.

The flop comes

Christian shoves all-in putting the player on the button at risk for his tournament life.

The player on the button tanks for about a minute before angrily throwing his cards face up across the table.  The   is flipped up and since the cards landed in front of Christian he flips up the other card to show his opponent's  .  The player on the button just shook his head in disgust as Christian continues to add to chips to his continuously growing chip stack.

The table folds to a player in the small blind who looks to his left, only to see Mark Greenland, who's just arrived at his table with close to 700,000 chips in front of him.

"I'll keep it small." he says before just competing the blind. Greenland checks his option to go to the     flop.

His opponent leads for 6,000, with Greenland quickly calling in position.

Greenland gets led into again after the   falls on the turn, this time for 10,000. But, this time he's not calling, as he min-clicks it back to 20,000.

His opponent calls and then check folds the   river, after Greenland throws out a 40,000 chip bet.

It was a small increase to his stack but it's put him in an envious position, as he looks to be one of the chip leaders with 750,000 heading towards the mid-way point of Level 18.
