Robert Mizrachi and Jacob Dahl heads up in Event #3
It was a long day of poker in the Amazon Room of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. While the masses flocked to the Colossus which occupied most of the tables in the area, Event #3: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better quietly played down from the returning 49 players. After eleven full 60-minute levels of play, just two players remained in contention for the bracelet and the $251,022 in first-place prize money. When the clock stopped for the evening, Jacob Dahl led two-time bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi in heads up play. These two will return for a Day 4 to conclude their epic match.
The day began with an astounding 49 players returning to the tournament felt with the hopes of attaining the first non-hold'em bracelet of the 2015 WSOP. One by one notable players fell to their competition as the field was slowly whittled down, one scooped pot at a time. Notable players to fall early on in the day include David Nicholson (47th), John Monnette (32nd), Eric Crain (31st), Raymond Davis (26th), Eric Wasserson (18th), and Wing Wong (11th).
The unofficial final table of ten was reached when Omaha, Nebraska native Kelly Vandhemheen fell in eleventh place. A short-stacked Andrew Yeh was quickly eliminated from play in tenth and the official final table was set. The story on everyone's lips was that of two-time bracelet winner Mizrachi going for number three. Mizrachi won his first bracelet during a Pot-Limit Omaha event back in 2007. He clinched number two in this very area of the Amazon room just one year ago, taking down the inaugural $1,500 Dealer's Choice event. Mizrachi held a sizable chip lead heading into the final table and used that to lean on his competition.
Thomas Taylor was the first casualty of the final table, falling at the hands of Nguyen Tran. Following Taylor out the door was Bruce Levitt in eighth and Nguyen in seventh. James Juvancic was the next to go, four-betting his stack all in against Ryan Himes. Himes scooped Juvancic and forced him to the rail in sixth place.
Quickly after Juvancic's elimination, Dominick Cuzzi tangled with Dahl. Cuzzi came out on the wrong end of the confrontation, ending his tournament run with a fifth place finish. Don Zewin eliminated Himes in fourth place, only to then fall in third himself. This elimination left Mizrachi and Dahl to play heads up for the bracelet.
Mizrachi held a chip lead going into heads up play, but that did not stop Dahl from giving it his all. Dahl, who has eight lifetime live tournament cashes, five of which are in Omaha, looks to add a sterling spotlight to his poker resume with a gold bracelet win. Dahl used his Omaha experience to battle back against Mizrachi, eventually taking the chip lead from the two-time bracelet winner. The two continued to trade the chip lead throughout the course of the eleventh level. By the time the final hand of the night was dealt, Dahl held his largest lead of the match over Mizrachi.
The final two competitors will return to the Amazon room at 3 p.m. on Sunday to play to a champion. As always, the WSOP Live Updates team will be on hand to provide the latest news from the felt.

In the early stages of heads-up play so far, it has been Robert Mizrachi who has taken the initiative, seemingly winning most of the bigger pots played by putting pressure on Jacob Dahl and making him fold on the river after betting all streets and getting called.
As a result of this, Mizrachi has stretched his chip lead out, and now has two-thirds of the chips in play with 5,200,000. Dahl has the remaining 1,700,000 and with the big bet being 160,000, he is getting close to danger territory.
