, and gets called by Anne Heft with

. The flop gives Sally a lot of outs,

, but the turn

left her drawing pretty thin. The river hits Sally right where she needs it,

"My Turn"
The slow tournament has turned into a thrill a minute, as each player takes turns moving in. On this hand, Sally Boyer moves in with K-8, and gets called by Anne, who shows Q-10. The flop brings two eights, and the swell of emotion goes back to Sally Anne Boyer -- your new chip leader at 1.7 million.

. Anne spikes her ace on the flop, and she doubles up to 1.7 million, with Sally at about 875,000

Sally Gets Sassy
Sally Boyer has taken complete control of the heads-up match early, moving in nearly every hand, and gaining momentum and chips. Sally has gotten herself back to almost even in chips 1.295 milllion to 1.29 million.

They are setting up the final table for the heads-up confrontation. Money and jewelry are being brought out onto the table.

Down to Heads-Up
Amazingly, we went from a tournament that would never end to heads-up play in the matter of about 25 minutes. When heads-up play began, the chip counts were:
Anne Heft 1.6 million
Sally Anne Boyer 985,000
Anne Heft sort of hung around, and hung around, and kept about an average stack going throughout the slow stages of this final table, and in what seemed like a flash, she suddenly had her opponent outchipped pretty seriously.

Two Hands Later -- Quad Damage!!
Randi Calabro, who admitted in her post-match interview that she was fired from her job for not showing up to work today, now has $106,177 to buy groceries and pay the rent. In a blind-on-blind confrontation, Sally Anne Boyer moved all in from the small blind with

, and Randi Calabro insta-called when she looked down at

. The flop decided it all when it came

and Randi was out of a job and out of the tournament. Randi appealed to anyone who wanted to hire her in the Orlando area to do so...

The Hits Keep Coming -- Kathleen Gliva -- Fourth Place
Usually, after dinner break play slows down a bit as everyone is in a food coma. We apologize for the lack of chip counts, but literally the last three bustouts have occurred before the winning player can even stack the chips from the prior bustout. Sally Anne Boyer moved in with

, and ran into Kathleen Gliva, who called for all her chips with

. The board came jack high with only one club, and after losing one player in four hours, we lost our third player in five hands. Kathleen Gliva, fourth place -- $70,216

Shocking Development -- Katja Thater -- Fifth
Katja Thater got a bit unlucky when her

ran into Anne Heft's

. The flop brought Katja some outs for a chop when it came

. The turn,

, didn't help but did bring more outs for a chop -- but alas it was not meant to be as the river was the

. Katja was by far the most agressive and skilled of the final table participants, but ultimately...just couldn't fade the cards. Katja Thater -- fifth place -- $49,151. We will see more of Katja down the road.

Frauke Just Gone
Frauke Ritter Von Sporschill, as nice as she is -- I'm not going to lie to you, I'm happy I don't have to write that name again tonight -- is out in sixth place. Frauke moved in with

, and got picked off by Anne Heft, who woke up with

. No ace, no draws, and no help came for Frauke, who came all the way from Germany just to play in this tournament, was out in sixth place. Frauke can fly back to Germany and tell her friends that she was the chip leader entering the final table at the women's event of the WSOP, and then buy them many Steins of beer with the $37,448 she won for sixth place.

Frauke Gone Wild!!!
After seeing a flop blind on blind, Sally Boyer leads at the pot after making third pair with

on a flop of

. Frauke puts the rest of her small stack in with an open-ended straight draw, and Sally makes the call. The turn

leaves Frauke with eight outs, and when the

hits on the river, Frauke jumps up and down over and over with glee at hitting her card. When things calm down, Frauke has doubled through the chip leader, but is still short.

Climbing Back Up The Mountain
Katja Thater moves all in, and no one calls. At this point, with 90,000 in the middle, and the average stack being a little under 400,000 -- those blinds and antes are like gold.
Tue, 12 Jun 2007 21:58:33 -0700
Mindy Trinidad -- Seventh Place
What did we say two hours ago? It works every time but the last, and the sixth time was not the charm for Mindy Trinidad, as she chose to push with

under the gun, and was called by Randi Calabro with

. The flop brought some help

for Mindy, but the turn and river brought no further help, and "All In Mindy" was all out. Mindy spoke more than anyone at the final table, so now we have a tight AND quiet final table to look forward to. Mindy won $28,086 for her pushing.

Katja Gets Clipped
With no action for almost three hours, we have had some serious action in the last few minutes...much of it at the expense of Katja Thater. Katja just ran into an unfortunate situation when she opened with

for 100k, and was re-raised all in by the next-closest to her in chips. Sally Anne Boyer (who has played just four pots in three hours) moved in for 343,000 total. Thater tanked for a good two minutes, but made the call. Boyer flipped up

, and for the first time in hours, Thater's dominance was at risk.
The board never gives Katja a chance except the two tens, and for the first time in hours, we have a new chip leader in Sally Anne Boyer.

Thater Getting Impatient
Katja Thater is realizing we will be here all night, as no one wants to play. Katja tries to force the action by raising with

, and Anne Heft moves in over the top with

. Katja has the math to call, and throws a few more chips out. The flop beings a

, but the turn is an

, and Anne doubles up through Katja. Katja is losing momentum.
Tue, 12 Jun 2007 19:57:18 -0700
Katja Gets Ready to Gamble
You sense a shift in Katja's mindset on this hand. Mindy moves in for the umpteenth time, and Katja calls her with

. Mindy flips over

, and she is all in for her tournament life one more time The flop brings a queen, but also an ace. The turn and river are blanks, and Mindy Trinidad doubles up for the fifth or sixth time.

All Frauke All the Time
Frauke Ritter Von Sporschill has played three hands in a row after not playing for an hour (maybe longer) -- and won all three.
