Day 2 of the €1,100 NLHE Re-entry has begun.
The tight security has loosened up a bit and the remaining 85 players are trickling into the tournament area. They’re ripping open bags and immediately riffling and forming stacks.
The player to unbag the most chips today is Kilian Kramer who’ll start Day 2 with 102,400. Kramer was the only player to cross the six-figure chip mark as second in chips is Jonathan Karamilikis, with 81,300.
Also starting Day 2 strong is David “Chino” Rheem (62,600), Daniel Laidlaw (59,400), Niels Herrgodts (55,000) and Scott Clements (40,100).
Players are starting close to the money as 85 remain and 72 will cash.
Jack Effel has kicked off the day and cards are now in the air.

Day 3 of the World Series of Poker Europe is in the history books. Today we would see a substantial field of 398 players, including 103 re-entries, taking a shot at Event #2 of the series, and after nine brutal levels there were less than 50 players remaining. It was an incredible attrition rate, and when play resumes tomorrow, we’ll be just a few places away from the money bubble.
Germany’s Kilian Kramer was a dominant force throughout the day. By the dinner break, he already had more than yesterday’s chip leader, and after winning a massive pot on one of the final hands of the day, Kramer was able to bag up a huge 102,400 in chips. He was followed by Jonathan Karamalikis who bagged up 81,300. The precocious Australian known as “MONSTER DONG” has over US$2 million in career earnings and came painfully close to a bracelet at the WSOP APAC this year. Is this his moment to shine?
Chino Rheem (62,600), Scott Clements (40,100), Barry Greenstein (31,800) will also be back for more on Day 2. We'll have confirmation of the chip counts for all of the survivors a little later this evening. Play will kick off at 12pm local time, with Event #3 €5,300 NLHE Mix Max also starting later in the day. Join the PokerListings team again tomorrow as we bring you all the live updates from the tournament floor of the World Series of Poker Europe.

After spending much of the night as the chip leader, and then being surpassed by Jonathan Karamalikis, Kilian Kramer has just eliminated an opponent on the third last hand of the night.
The action started with the player opening to 2,000 from middle position. Folded around to Filipe Pacheco and he flat-called. Kramer was next to act and three-bet to 5,500. Back on the original aggressor and he moved all in for 12,100.
At this point Pacheco went deep into the tank, with a player at the table eventually calling the clock on him. As the time ticked on, and with three seconds remaining, Pacheco opted to fold. Kramer quickly called and tabled his which was ahead of the at-risk player’s
The board ran out and Kramer had eliminated an opponent in the dying moments of the tournament.
We aren’t 100 percent sure, but it likes like Kramer has pipped Jonathan Karamalikis as the chip leader. We will have confirmation very shortly as the players start to bag and tag!

The tournament clock has been paused with 10 minutes remaining and each table will play five more hands before bagging up for the night.

Daniel Laidlaw might not have a big profile on the international stage, but "Down Under", they know he’s the real deal with a solid string of results in Australia, New Zealand and Macau. Scott Clements just found that out the hard way after losing a sizable pot to the Aussie.
We picked it up on the turn on the board of with Laidlaw leading for 5,600 from the big blind. Clements made the call and the river card completed the board. Laidlaw thought briefly before making it 13,600. Clements didn’t wait for a count as he instantly verbalized a call.
Laidlaw opened for trip deuces which was too strong for Clements who mucked. Clements is down to 32,000 with Laidlaw now up to 55,000.

We may have pulled the trigger too early on claiming that Kilian Kramer would be hard to catch as the chip leader as Jonathan “MONSTER DONG” Karamalikis now sits behind just over 70,000 in chips.
Karamalikis is of course well-known for his humorous online screen name as shown above, but also has more than $2 million in live tournament results on his resume.
Right now it’s a battle between Kilian and Karamalikis for the chip lead, but who knows what could happen in the next 15 minutes before the day is over.

Barry Greenstein was cruising along nicely and looked to add even more to his stack but an opponent took a chunk out of it with a dominated hand.
This opponent moved all in for 6,350 with and Greenstein successfully isolated with
Greenstein was helpless to a board rolling out.

Killian Kramer has had a monster chip lead over this field for much of the evening and that lead recently increased yet again as we watched Kramer deal the fatal blow to Ben Nicolas.
It was all in and at-risk preflop for Nicolas, who held Kramer had and a board meant that not only had Kramer stayed in front, but it had even improved his hand.
It’s looking more and more likely that Nicolas will finish as the overall chip leader heading into Day 2.

We just witnessed another interesting clash between Filipe Pacheco and the giant-killing Kilian Kramer. Pacheco opened to 1,250 before Kramer three-bet the button to 3,100. Pacheco called and the flop landed
Pacheco checked and then called the bet of 2,200 from Kramer as the appeared on the turn. Both players checked and the river appeared on board. Pacheco checked and Kramer slid out a solid 6,600. Pacheco took his time and then committed to the call.
Kramer gave a nod of the head and tossed his cards straight into the muck to concede the pot. This is where things got interesting. Pacheco also threw his cards into the muck, but the dealer quickly exclaimed that Pacheco must show to receive the pot. At this point, no one had cards and the floor was called.
The floor explained to Pacheco, that eventhough Kramer had conceded the pot, he must show the winning hand to receive the pot.
"I paid to see, and yet I have to show?!?" questioned Pacheco before asking what would happen if they were irretrievable. However he knew where his cards were sitting and was able to peel back the from the muck before he was handed the pot.
Pacheco is still well out in front with 75,000 but Pacheco is gaining ground as he now sits with 40,000.

Scott Clements’ attention may not be on the last level of the night as he’s sweating his Football team, the Seattle Seahawks, who are playing the Tennessee Titans.
The game has only just begun and maybe that was why Clements was in a hurry to build up a stack worth around 54,000.
Clements wasn’t happy with a play he saw and waved his finger at his laptop screen. He has the stack to cruise through to day 2; will his team be as successful?

Euan Cameron and his neighbor tangled in a bit pot but both turned over the nuts in an anticlimax.
A few hands later they were at it again and Cameron did well to lose the minimum.
He opened to 1,200 and only called saying, “This is so bad” after his opponent three-bet up to 3,000.
Both checked the flop before Cameron led for 2,200 and 2,775 on the turn and river. His opponent raised his river bet up to 7,100 and he said, “I just call.”
It was a good job he did just call, pre flop and on the river, as his opponent’s pocket aces bettered his pocket queens.
“I should go broke 90% of the time!” suggested Cameron. He dropped to 20,000.

Two-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Andy Frankenberger and Aussies Jonathan Karamalikis and Daniel Laidlaw have been seated side-by-side for much of the evening.
Of these three players, Karamalikis has fared the best, managing to accumulate a stack of around 45,000. Laidlaw has also done well, sitting behind 30,000 in chips. Frankenberger only has around 14,000.
We recently watched Frankenberger lose a small pot to Laidlaw. The hand started with Laidlaw opening to 1,350 from early position. The action folded around to Frankenberger in the big blind, and after some deliberation, Frankenberger made the call.
Frankenberger and Laidlaw both checked down the board and at showdown Laidlaw’s trumped Frankenberger’s

The players are back in their seats and the cards are being flung around the table for the final level of the day. The attrition rate has been rather high today. The big screen is showing just 62 players remaining which is already close to the 15% of the field mark where play stopped yesterday.

We will be playing nine levels here on Day 1b of the Re-Entry. The eighth level just entered the record books and approximately 75 players have made their way on a 20-minute break. Just one more level when we get back!

Shawn Buchanan is often refered to as one of the best players without a WSOP gold bracelet. He will be looking to change that here in Europe and so far he has put the wheels in motion to do just that.
We recently arrived at Buchanan's table to fin him and one opponent getting all the chips in preflop. Buchanan's opponent was quite short and was at-risk holding Buchanan held
The flop was great for Buchanan and the news only got better as a turn and a river meant that he had dealt the fatal blow to a player and added to his stack, which is now around 25,000.

Salvatore Mongiovi got his chips into the middle in great shape but still felt the need to pray to the heavens. The prayers seemed to work as he had his opponent drawing dead by the turn.
The big stacked Nicolai Kramer opened to 850 and picked up four callers en route to a flop.
The action was checked around to a player in the cut-off who fired 3,000 in to the middle. Mongiovi was on the button and moved all in for 8,325. The cut-off was the only caller with
Mongiovi opened and the hand was over after he filled up on the turn.

Chino Rheem’s having hard time not getting involved in a hand.
His most recent big pot started when Matt Ashton raised to 800 from the hijack. Rheem called from the cutoff and Michael David Chetrit did the same from the big blind.
The flop fell and Chetrit checked. Ashton bet 1,200, Rheem called and Chetrit raised to 2,700.
Ashton thought for a bit, then folded. Rheem thought for a bit and called. A came on the turn and Chetrit bet another 2,700.
Rheem called and the river brought a It also brought another bet from Chetrit, an all-in bet worth 6,175.
Rheem thought, counted out the bet and thought some more. It took Rheem a few minutes, but he eventually folded and Chetrit chipped up to 14,400.
Almost simultaneously, one table over, Ryan Riess was doubling up. Riess and Jonathan Little got it all-in preflop and Riess had Little’s dominated with
The board came and Riess doubled up to about 7,000.

There are a few languages that are said to be universal. Love is one. Swearing appears to be another.
We didn’t have any idea what one gentleman was saying in a recent pot, but he clearly wasn’t happy. After calling a three-bet with the unknown player got a pretty good flop and called a short-stacked shove. The shorty only had for ace-high but it held on the turn and
We then witnessed a tirade of French dialect thrown across the table by the player who lost the pot. We didn’t understand most of it, but we’d catch a colourful “Motherf**er” here and a “F**king idiot” there -- enough to understand exactly what this guy was thinking. You’d think it was a 50k pot but it was barely worth 10k! Perhaps fortunately for the player who doubled, it appeared he didn’t speak French either, but we’re pretty sure he got the gist.

Kilian Kramer has just scooped up another massive pot and now well and truly has the chip lead. In fact, Kramer has far more than the end-of-day chip leader from last night’s Day 1a.
We caught the action of the massive hand from the flop. It was Kramer versus Filipe Pacheco. On the flop, Pacheco led for 950 and Kramer quickly made it 2,800 to go. Back on Pacheco and after plenty of thought, he raised it up to 5,425. Kramer made the call and the dealer flipped over a turn.
Both players checked here and a completed the board on the river. This time when Pacheco checked, Kramer casually bet 8,400. This prompted Pacheco to go deep into the tank. Eventually he decided to fold and the pot went to Kramer.
With that, Kramer is up over 70,000 in chips.
