Patrick Chan Triples Up, Leaves Beckley and Jarvis Short

Matt Jarvis opens to 130,000 from early position and gets three callers, including Joshua Beckley on the button and Patrick Chan in the big blind.

The small blind and Chan check the     flop, with Jarvis continuing for 260,000. The in position Beckley calls before the small blind folds and Chan, after taking inventory of his own chips and the middle of the pot, announces himself "all-in".

The total is for just over 1,600,000 and after some thought, Jarvis calls, leaving himself just over 1,100,000. After Joshua Beckley calls as well, Patrick Chan jumps from his seat and removes his sunglasses, as he suddenly has a chance to triple up.

But, there are still two other players in the hand, until the   falls on the turn and Jarvis quickly check and then quickly folds after Beckley moves in for his remaining 1,600,000.

After the Canadian folds, the hands are tabled, with Chan holding    for a flopped set and Beckley tabling    for a turned flush.

"I still have outs though!" Chan says, standing from the table, just in time to see the   spike on the river to pair the board and save his tournament life.

Chan shoots away from the table, shouting in celebration, "Ship it! Let's go!" The energy that Chan exudes is coupled with the quietness of Beckley, who was one card away from perhaps vaulting to the top of the Main Event leaderboard.

Instead, it's Chan making the jump into the top ten after tripling up in one of the first hands he's played at one of the outer feature tables.

Patrick Chan - 5,500,000 (91 bb)
Joshua Beckley - 1,600,000 (26 bb)
Matt Jarvis - 1,100,000 (18 bb)
